Or you can just build strong fighters and have them serve as pickets...
Brad has already said that they'll make a GalCiv III - it'll just be a couple years before that happens (Society's the next thing to come). The thing people don't seem to realize that want multiplayer - a single turn will take ages. A single turn for me longer in the game probably takes 2-5 minutes on average (just guessing). If you add one player, it means that you just *sit* there for 2-5 minutes after each turn - most people don't have an attention span for something that long beca
So many posts have just been idiotic. People that are fanatic about wanting multiplayer keep on coming up with senseless arguments about how horrible it is that GalCiv II doesn't have it. Here's the summary of the points I've seen: 1: People only buy games with multiplayer. A: The fact that GalCiv II has sold so well shows that people want a game that they can play by themselves. Not a single person has bought the game because of multiplayer because the game has *never* supported
My opinion - multiplayer in a game this large really isn't worth it. I've tried doing turn based multiplayer before and it got old really fast (you end up waiting forever for your next turn)... unless there's a way to make it so you can play full games in an hour I don't see it as something which is worth pursuing. As a thought what I would like to see is an increased military strength for starbases. Unless you manage to cram every module onto a starbase, its easily destroyed by enemy
You have to bump a post for it to appear...
Heh... what am I learning in history... Right now some intensive stuff on the War of 1812... and about the formation of the American republic. (I'm a history major - taking the last two electives to finish up my degree) Previously: Medieval European History, Chinese History (overview), World War I (thesis topic, focused on the American homefront attitudes prior to the war... though we did look at the entire thing), West African History, United States Civil War, United State
Actually one of the higher quality reviews in the magazine...
It wouldn't be a doom ray if you saw it coming...
All labs.
There already is cloaking in the game files... but the devs chose not to implement it because of balancing issues (to my knowledge).
I had gotten GalCiv 1 after reading a review on it (went on a search and destroy mission to get it after that)... then heard about GalCiv 2 when it was announced.
When I play I don't see any pretty planets or ships... thats what I get for playing zoomed all the way out
I've had it happen in all versions of the game so far... and it seems random (sometimes I do get that first turn off a safe off)...
I should have reread the post (originally did it a while back, but saw some of the problems when I was playing my last game on 1.1 beta)... I believe that #2 was one of the corrections that Stardock was looking to make in the Beta - the main thing that really bugs me is #1... since it makes the game slow down quite a bit (and I'm running a relatively powerful system), and also skews the diplomancy like mad. Simply put, when races at are war they shouldn't be able to continue the same
(Odd, first time I posted it got deleted, now its in the 'My Posts' but it wasn't in any of the boards... second time was the same... third time is a charm?) Here're a couple of issues I'm finding with the game... (I do quite love it though) - even with the 1.1 beta. 1) Arms Race - Instead of actually going to war with one another the different AI races will just build a ton of ships so that nobody will attack them... and they rar
I've had problems with posts that I've made never showing up on the forums... (though appears in 'my posts')
I was actually trying to do the above... but I got too bored and gave up. Props on being able to tough it out! It does show how badly the metaverse needs to get revamped score wise.
What map sizes are you playing? I personally love the larger maps... things get a whole lot more complicated and a lot more fun (and normally I'll have far fewer planets than anyone else but then pull out a victory because I eat them up piece by piece).
Well... the forum seems bugged as well. I've started a thread but haven't managed to find it on the forums...
Its after 69% taxes it goes insane... in the harder games I'll just keep my tax rate hovering around there after I get some stuff to keep my morale up.
Correction: you fight the entire tax-paying population. I would assume that children are not included, for how much that matters. In the future everyone will be a tax payer (ha, it'd be funny if it wasn't so likely to happen)!
Probably a easier understanding of fair use: Link Using it for something like thing would be 99% sure to be ruled fair use - the only thing is that you never know for sure unless you get sued (its not one of those areas where there's a it is or isn't... its really only determined by a suit).
Heh... actually comes from me playing a cakewalk game to see how much I can screw with the score... but yeah Try it yourself and tell me if it works
It takes a variety of techs to be able to get a premade ship... but the ones you make by hand will always turn out to be better. What I'll normally do is wait for a tech which is a significant leap above what I last fielded and then slap it on a new design.
