Anticipating Elemental in the worst way, I pre-ordered the Limited Edition several months ago. And while I do have the digital download version installed on my PC, I'm still waiting my physical copy, despite my living in Minnesota. (Note: It normally takes only a few days for stuff to get here from Ohio via postal service.) It's been almost two weeks since the game's release, and I'm getting antsy wondering where my LE is at. Could I get

Of the games listed, Galactic Civilizations 2 is my favorite, but they're all far from perfect. In the end, it really comes down to what you like/want most in a 4x game. Here's my quick overview: GalCiv2 Pros : Great AI. Good empire-builder. Diplomacy actually works and makes sense. Excellent ship design
Quoting TheBirthdayParty, reply 3Is Ogame one of those online games where you have to wait in real time over hours/days for things to build/troops to move/etc.? Yes. Builds can end up taking days of time. Movements and attacks can depend on fleet composition, techs, and how far away they are. Was a fun game but when I started planning attacks, factoring in drive times, checking on my stuff every 30 minutes,
OGame , perhaps?
All of Robin Hobb, too!
There seems to be some correlation between Hobb and Martin, as most people who like one tend to like the other as well. On the flip side, I find them to be the two worst fantasy authors on the planet. I somehow got through the first two books in the Ice & Fire series, and (even more impressively) forced myself to read Hobb's Farseer trilogy -- and in both cases, I ended up wishing for
Oh this is hilarious... normally I wouldn't talk about it, but in this case it's just too funny. Apparently, someone's pirated the game. But with a big problem - the fonts are broken. Now they've got pirates outing themselves on their forum. I can't believe the audacity of freeloaders ripping off a tiny company by asking for support.
Some people have no shame (or clue).
....And " psychoravin the Internet Troll" returns. I was wondering where you'd been [e digicons]:\[/e] @KalGerek : I wouldn't worry about difficulty levels. Stardock's previous game Galactic Civilizations 2 has numerous difficulty settings, and I imagine it will be much the same with Elemental as well. [e digicons]:)[/e]
First off, I apologize if this thread seems redundant in light of the "European availability" thread . However, sometimes the UK is considered "separate" from Europe/EU for purposes of game distribution, and I want to make sure there's no confusion or misunderstanding. Bottom line: Will the boxed version of Elemental be available for purchase in the UK, either in retail stores or online shops (l
Ah, I see. What exactly was said/shown in the video? Just the teaser trailer again?
I've been casually following Horizon's development off & on for years now. I like what I've read/heard about the game thus far, but it's been in development for so long that I'm not going to be hold my breath waiting for it. Here's hoping, though!

Like removing an old bandage, it'd be best to just get it over with that much sooner.
Well they killed that pretty

Frogboy , I've been meaning to ask for a while now: Was your map directly inspired by Tolkien's, or did you only realize after the fact that they were similar (at least in terms of the general layout)?

Honestly, I can't tell the difference. It all looks the same to me. Out of curiosity, which lighting is easier on one's PC hardware (if either)?
Here's the thread.
I thought you said a while ago the total budget to make Elemental was under a million? Somewhere in the $800,000 range. Or was that a different quote I'm thinking of?
I think that was the budget for GalCiv2. I may be mistaken as well, however, so it's probably best not to quote me on that.

Meh; I'm pretty ambivalent either way. I'd go with whichever is easier for you guys -- that, and/or whichever will be easier on our computers.
That's an easy one for me. While I always appreciate games that boast both good graphics and good gameplay, when push comes to shove, I won't hesitate to sacrifice graphics. Unless I find a game's visuals to be truly atrocious (and there's fortunately very few examples that would qualify in my book), gameplay will pretty much always trump everything else.
Hmm. I can't help wondering if this is a hoax. I'd love to be wrong, but it does seem a bit suspicious.
Personally, I'd guess our power was closer to that of Sauron. If our channelers have as much power as Morgoth/Melkor, they'd virtually be gods.
Didn't Morgoth give most of his power to Sauron before he got banished by the gods to where ever?
Not as I understand it, no. Sauron was his chief lieutenant, however, and already quite powerful in his own right.
WINNER. TAKE. ALL. This is the part where we want to hear your opinions. We do ask that you keep an open mind on what we ultimately go with. My opinion is that the attacking player has the onus to finish the battle in N turns. After N turns, the attacker morale starts to go lower and lower at which point the defender can come out and make mince meat out of them. The question is, what should determine what N is? Or should we allow retreating? Should we all
