Will there be steam workshop integration for this sort of thing? It'd be great to download background/foreground/leader thumbnail packs from modders. :)

I'm inclined to agree that the Founders and the Early Access Feedback sub-forums should be restricted to prevent spoilers, but more importantly, to prevent potentially negative impressions from spreading to the rest of the community. People do, for whatever reason, tend to flippantly ignore the development process and see alphas and betas as some sort of finished product, or as close to finished to justify toxic reactions.
