Varied: It always crashed during boot on the host(Vista Biz). During the trial, MP would popup the splash. If you clicked any of the three options. Thunk! When MP crashed this way, it would not swipe the mouse pointer. When moving the mouse to the other machine (XP SP2 in this case), it MP would, sometimes – not every time, crash on the host (Vista). A crash in this manner would remove the mouse pointer. Just randomly. Working along in anything (excel, etc.) Poof!
Trial just about up and I can't see myself paying for this software. But I would LOVE to. Main System Vista Biz Secondary XP Sp2 MP ALWAYS crashes on boot of the Vista. I then restart MP and it seems to run just fine. Then out of the blue, crash. When it crashes this time, it swipes my mouse pointer. Poof, no visual pointer. I need to go to mouse setting and select any pointer and it reapears. I will provide what info I can to assist. <
Me too, Cursor "Busy" Also, the menu is much wider than prior. Can this be resized? I can't tell how.
After removal of McAfee AV, WB seems to be running like a champ. No Explorer crashes for a couple of days. What could be the issue?
Question for all who have this problem, like me. Do you use McAfee Anti-Virus software? I think I am on to something... (at least on my system)
WB5 Crashes Explorer. WB5 Crashes Explorer. WB5 Crashes Explorer. Does anyone else see this? I have unloaded EVERYTHING else that is Stardock.. WB5 Crashes Explorer. These crashes do not happen when WB5 is not running. I would hate to give up WB – not for the skins, but for the roll-up alone. (Side note: anyone know a good alternative rollup util?) Whoops! I spoke too soon. Explorer has crashed several times on me now. No WFX or IP.
Neil - I have tried both with WFX and without. It crashs either way. The effect I see is that, with WFX running, windows do not get skined unless I move them. With WFX off it seems to skin fine. Thanks WeatherBound! I uninstalled IconPackager and WB5 does now seem to work. (At least no Explorer crashes so far) So, what's the issue between IP and WB?
I have posted this several times will no decent response from SD. So, I will try again. WB5 crashes Explorer on my system. Explorer just stops, then attempts to restart but never makes it fully. No trigger that I can see, it just goes boom. Additionally, WB5 also leaves a big white box artifact on the screen (up and to the left of WB ) when I open WB configuration. But this is just an annoyance. XP SP2 WB 5.00.001 WindowBlinds 5.0 System Inf
I too have been getting frequent Explorer crashes with WB5. Question Makaveli213: Are you using the Microsoft Desktop Search? One way I can blow up Explorer is if I have WB running and then run a search in MS Desktop Search. Boom! Without WB running, no issues with the MSDS or Explorer. WB 5 4.90[b].002 XP Pro SP 2 Seems to just go pop. WB looks like it starts up fine. Then just suddenly, explorer crashed and then restarts. Not sure how long after start up of WB it does this, it seems to vary. How can I assist?
Subject says it all: Explorer goes thud for me when running WB. Running FX 2.21 or not.
