I played a couple of (long) sessions of SK with the Rivals expansion, playing as the Frozen Realm. Just sat down to play tonight, and I'm getting "Unable to load gamesave because it is not compatible with the current version". PLEASE don't tell me I have to start all over again...

I am having a similar problem. I killed both lieutenants, got the keys, but I can't go to the SK. I'm just kinda wandering around the map aimlessly, not finding anyone to kill... Screenshot & saved game here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/8rj3bos6fu14ap7/AADFrY8tSjcFtXO4nM4vFOUGa?dl=0

This is the second update that I haven't been able to install directly. Last time, I had to uninstall and re-download the whole thing to install the game. It's probably because I install on a secondary partition (non-standard location), but it's really frustrating to have to download a 3.2GB installer because the patcher won't work right.

I had the same problem just now in a game as Resoln. The Spell of Making happened to complete on the same turn that I got a "World Achievement". It looked like it started to do the "you win!" series of events, but then popped up the "World Achievement" box. So now I have to win another way...although I guess I can just cast it again...

I keep getting a "can't login" error when I try the "unofficial" patch. Even tried to run it with the command line parameters, but no dice. Oh well, I need to watch some football today anyway. [e digicons]}:)[/e] EDIT: Nevermind. My "pristine" copy isn't working either. Still...football. :)

I agree wholeheartedly. I think the "Trade Depot" idea is a good one as well--requires some investment on the front end, and could easily(?) be balanced by the city level. A city of Level 1 can only connect to one other city, a city of Level 2 can connect to two cities, Level 3 can connect to FOUR cities, etc. (Exponential growth of connectivity, basically.) Set it up so that they connect to the closest city automatically, and go from there. I also like t

WARNING: SPOILERS in this post!! Just wanted to correct some typos in the Victory text for the "Salvation" mission (from the scenario file): AGAIN, THERE ARE SPOILERS BELOW. The best would be if we could determine military, social and research production for each planet. I totally agree. It's actually more confusing trying to manage them all centrally--especially when you have certain planets that just BEG to only build ships or tech. Hones

There is also a known issue with some nVidia cards losing their mouse cursor, we've not been able to reproduce that (and we've got a lot of nVidia cards here). Apparently the mouse issue isn't specific to GalCiv II so I'll probably shoot an email over to our friends at Firaxis to see what they've seen on this. I play a lot (too many?) ga

Try switching to a hardware cursor under Video Options. It made things work a little better for me, although I'm still having issues with ALT-TAB and anti-virus pop-ups killing my session. I'm just glad the autosave is fast...Otherwise, I would have stopped playing altogether.

If I want to just fix the engines on a colony ship I shouldn't have to spend 10-15 minutes in the ship design feature. I have to agree with this. Especially since I ran into that issue where you can't actually save a design anyway since the confirmation screen is hidden behind everything.<b
