i did an uninstall on both machines, deleted all registry keys and did a clean install of the freshly bought standard edition. so far, everything seems to be fine. i'll try your keyboard combo if the problem should appear again, which i don't hope thank you neil for your support.
I'm using an IntelliMouse Optical by Microsoft connected via USB and using the "built in" Windows drivers. And no, the problem persists after unloading Multiplicity. Loging off and on didn't seem to resolve the problem, just rebooting. Not even killing the MULTIS~2.exe on the command prompt helped it (btw: not being able to kill it via TaskManager isn't very comfortable, but ok for me). With the first beta version I just had some problems, where Multiplicity seemed to have lost connection and had to be stopped via Ctrl-Alt-End, but not very often. Just upgraded to 1.01 and don't get it to work anymore. Moving the mouse over to the secondary machine makes the mouse pointer disappear on the primary machine, but not controllable on the secondary. Moving it back onto the primary machine then doesn't work anymore, the mouse-pointer is "los
