Though I'd already seen it, I decided to rent "Pride and Prejudice" starring Matthew McFadyen and Kiera Knightly. Jane Austen and great cinematography. I think "Sense and Sensibility" directed by Ang Lee had better cinematography but both movies fill me with this really big desire to go to England and check out the countryside. It's probably not as idyllic, as the portray it but after living in Japan for 10 years, I appreciate any bit of nature t

Little known to the rest of the world is this "haven" I like to call "heaven" if the pun fits. Hainan is situated in the South East China sea. It is a long stretch of beach the best and most beautiful parts of which are easily accessible. Ancient China civilization boasted this to be the location of the "Edge of the sky and the sea" because it sure looks and feels like it. The horizon knows no boundaries and on a calm day, which is most days...you

I disagree. Posting things on a public forum makes them open to praise, ridicule, insinuations and what not. Ziggy was just giving his two cents' worth on the subject of women vs men granted he should have posted on TW's site if he was trying to hurt her but he didnt and he did write a disclaimer which in all my 8 months on JU is quite acceptable when it comes to sensitive posts. TW's article was all her, but she did use a very general subject that

umm..the year of the rooster starts on the eve of Feb 9th. The year of the rooster is bad luck this year because it is missing "quin" and this only happens every 11 years or so. You can alleviate the bad luck by wearing red underwear.

You are beautiful, you are awesome. if you go after life, you will meet it and it can be just what you wanted it to be. I admire your energy right now...keep it flowing and post this on your refridgerator so you will always be reminded that "milk gone bad" is not what you are going after this year. I also "walked away" from JU but I didnt say goodbye and therefore do stop by once in a while. I too am trying to make this year really count! good luc

I feel the same way...have been trying to educate my students on current affairs..but for most of them..out of sight is ...well out of mind. Scatter, you are sweet...I have since met someone about a month ago and have been blissfully happy, all this taken with an ounce of commonsence and reality off course. I hope I will still be holding his hand come 2006...or the hand of my favorite man..Jim Beam or his immigrant neighbor Jose...

I just copied this from China Daily Web site. It's definitely a whole nother world I live in from when I was 3 and all I wanted from Santa was a piece of candy and a dollar. I sure hope the old man knows how to respond to this one: (excuse the Chinglish and bad spelling, English is not her first language.) Dear Santa Claus: from a tv program, I

I'd go visit the woman I love, tell her I love her, and then do whatever she wants me to do for the remainder of the twelve hours. Which would most likely be leave her alone, but that's another story... Now ask me a hard question sorry but this is too funny!!!

I wish I had the capacity to hate people based on isolated incidences. In my case based on what seem to me, like well culculated, intentional, mean't -to -scald -my- throat- and-burn -my- anus type of personal attacks. Last Thursday I went into KFC to buy a wrap and an ice cream and someone stole my beautiful bike. It was the second bike I had had in 2 mo
