I think it's DISGUSTSING how John McCain supporters are calling Obama a "terrorist," and claiming how he's in kahoots with, "terrorists." These last minute scare mongering techniques are outrageous. Good luck controlling the mess you have created Mr. McCain. Personally, I don't really understand how anyone can "FcCain" vote for you. Quote of the week: "John McCain has sided with George W. Bush on 90% of the issues that concern Americans. To me that ma

I think that past relationships do effect current ones. For example, the first love of my life broke my heart, left me without a goodbye and now I always have a fear that my husband will leave me. We talk about this and even though I no longer love the first person, not having a sense of closure to that relationship effects my sense of security.
Awesome! that makes two of us! hehe
1. What is your greatest fear? Having regrets 2. What is the most evil thing anyone could ever do? Harm another person/animal 3. Is there anything you would refuse to do in any circumstances? see above 4. What are you really good at? reading people 5. What are you really bad at? I can be kind of a gossip at times...although, I'm improving!
When I was in undergrad and decided to add on my music education major I used to dream of what my classroom would look like. Of course it would be brimming with instruments, colorful posters bragging the joys of music in our lives, a piano (what music room wouldn't have a piano?!) and a desk where I could put all of my pictures of my husband and myself. A plaque hanging above my door would boast my "name comma music," so everybody knew where all of the creation would take place. T

I was going to write a long winded response, but thank you FS, you hit the nail on the head in two sentences!
Aww..this is so sad. Pets are just like members of the family. Especially dogs!! aww.. My parents had a similar situation happen to their cat this past summer. Tootie was not diagnosed with any sort of problem, she was 6 years old and healthy, chasing the dog around...then she got sick and died on the day she was supposed to go to the vet. The dog was lost for a few days.... I am sorry for your loss.
Chaos: Wow..kudos to you and your wife! It is great to hear supportive stories from parents who deal with this first hand. I bet the growth that you have seen throughout your child's life can't even be put into words! It really is all of the small things that mean so much. Thank you for the advice and words of encouragement. You are absolutely right...consistency is the key!
ACK it didn't work again...oh well, forget it!
Let's see if this works...My face looks exactly like the one in the middle...just try to picture it without all of the 80s hair and clothes... IMG]http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj113/seanellio/classmates-evilkumquat.jpg[/IMG]
Exactly! During my undergrad I never even thought I would have to teach these classes because I was not qualified to do so. I remember just being kind of thrown into it while I was subbing and eventually learned a couple of things. I think this is why I'm getting a masters degree in it! hehe. It's good to hear from you!
As I have mentioned I teach elementary music for an at risk school district on Long Island. My duties involve grades 1-2 and special ed classes in 3 different buildings. 14 periods out of 36 a week end up being a special learning environment. I teach students from all different scopes. This includes speech and hearing problems, multiple learning disabilities, emotionally disturbed children, and my personal fave- the autisim spectrum. Mondays tend to be on
yes. We are ready...America is a melting pot and I think that having a president that represents that concept is very fitting.
fs: Exactly! No matter what the tradition is, once it goes away, you never really realize how much that security meant to you! p.s. I've been out of the house for years now and it always seems like I'm still calling my mom for everything!
Just a little disclaimer: I didn't want this to turn into a mudslinging-fest-type of blog, but my values lie with the left and no matter what anyone says, that will not change.
I forgot that JU is very right wing dominant. I have to be honest, I'm not feeling this election as much as I was the last. Even though I am voting for Obama, I just felt that Hillary was the better choice for the job. I am a strong supporter of the dems and even though I feel that the ideal candidate was not selected, my values still remain the same. I believe in a woman's right to choose and health care for everyone. I agree with raising these taxes to
I'm a dead ringer for the chick in the middle. It's kind of frightening..
I couldn't picture teaching anywhere else. I subbed in a really rich district and it just wasn't for me. The kids were bratty and unappreciative. Ahh..the NY department of ed...I feel like they are in our district every other day..haha. Nonetheless, I bet it was a pretty rad experience!
A light strength training program will also help. Musicle burns more body fat. maybe try taking hand weights with you on your walk or do 3 reps of 20 curls. There are tons of programs to follow online.
I found my CPR training to be informative, but there are so many steps to remember. I am just afraid that I would miss something major during an emergency!
Hi Marcie! Long time no "see." Anywhoo, I feel EXACTLY the same way! I really waffle on this subject quite frequently. Like yourself, I love kids and love teaching, but I'm just afraid that I will not be the best parent. Even though I basically play a mother type figure 5 days a week from 8-3, I just don't know if it's something I can handle 24-7. It just seems like a huge responsibility that I am not sure I can handle.
Oh how ironic, I'm a horn player, too. Actually, I went to college for music and now I teach it so here's some advice: Just get through it, with a smile, set a good example, be enthusiastic about your section and I promise it will seem better. Don't let others spoil the music making process for you. Transcedence is a good thing. Do you plan on studying music in college? I have a story that sort of relates to what you are going through:
Kelly: Yes! I totally agree. As I said, I didn't realize how much I missed this until it was gone.
I just got it.
