Good luck, and Gosh Darn if I don't wish I could have a few with ya there in the Duck.

Is it fair to call Rep. McDermott a godless man? The pledge is SO vague that all it requires is that people admit that we as a nation are "under God". Wow. What a concept. How about "one nation more powerful than God" or "one nation equal to God"? If you were to poll the populace of the US with those three possibilities, which do we think would come out ahead? The only people we're offending, if they're the offendable type, are atheists, who are cle
OK, I'll weigh in on this one... Going to have to side with Dave on it, Greywar, sorry. I was actually on the phone recently with a computer that could understand my questions and answers, so long as I stayed within the conversational parameters. For a computer to be programmed to recognize certain speech wave patterns (words like om-bay, uclear-nay, etc ) and flag them for closer inspection is certainly doable, especially for a computer owned by a ma
Wow... I told SPC Spatula, hope that's ok. :-) REALLY enjoying the stories, keep up the good work!
There goes that guilt reflex again, Catholic boy. Try to remember that you made the best decision with the information you had at the time, and that Hind-Sight isn't always accurate, as it ignores your instincts... instincts which don't have a "reason", but which may have averted a major incident to which the police would have responded, to pick up the pieces.
I don't recall ever trying to challenge you in the drinking arena, Greywar... I believe my angle was usually having a few with you, and then being amused when you'd start swaying as you talked. :-) I discovered my limits in Korea, and they ain't very high. And by the way, thanks again for the Prairie Fire, and the Thunder Something too! Had any more old growlers lately, or have you been sticking to boxed wine?
What I've found recently is that I suck at debating. The reason for this is not that I haven't thought deeply about the issues, or that I can't articulate my point of view. No, the problem is that I have WAY too little patience with people bringing up the same old falacious arguments year after year. It's can be frustratingly boring! Can't we have these issues settled once and for all, and be done with it? I think it's that college culture stirring up
So to say "Minnesota pwns" ... is that active, or passive? would it be like "Minnesota eules" ... or "Minnesota is the freatest"? Or would it be more along the lines of "Minnesota is way too xold, and it's hard for people from Sirtwater, Fla to acclimatize"? Dang am I having a hard time with this keyboard. Die Zerg! You sure that SPM guy doesn't have a silver "H" on his forehead? Sounds like a possible alter-ego of the Late Great Arnold Rimmer.<
Q14 - What's the most traumatic experience you've had with the military?A: A decade of watching my closest friends leave the Army and me behind. And now, with this newfound "communication / blog" thing, your friends only have to leave the Army behind, and not you! And plus, if you're ever up in Minnesota again you'd damned well better give me a call so I can take you over to Best Buy and renew my kickback account. Or at least treat you
Don't tell me you've lost your faith in socialized medicine!! Sounds like the Plastic Surgeon was a winner though. And even though I never met Knuckles, I do remember the conversation where consensus was reached that he did, in fact, look better after the ordeal than before. Hey... I'm the first comment this time. Perhaps that's because I had to get up so FREAKING early on my day off just to make sure my projects go through so that I DO, in fact
Anxiously awaiting the next installment... What... do you think you get to take a break? You have an adoring public to please, pal.
I joined because I firmly believe that politicians ought to have a military backgroud...
err... neither of the above. But I can sure hear you saying "I erode the human soul." Mine would be something more like a guy sitting there hitting console buttons at random saying "This thing doesn't WORK!" and "Can you put this on the easiest setting?"
Too late... they're all cached by Google now.
Ooooh look at me... no longer an anonymous user!
