This cover and the one INOJ did of Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" were totally useless. Two 80's classics sped up, slimmed down, drum and bass-ed into irrelevance. If you review "Tonight" and the Twista song that references it , your RFTW bases will be completely covered.

You're dead on about the Big Boi cameo. Since Andre 3000 is taking a short break from rap, he's trying to carry the Outkast torch in the interim. However, weak verses like this suggest that he should put the torch down and pick up a thesaurus.

I dig this song, but I don't think being released a year later would have helped its success. Truth Hurts' "Addictive" (better video) and Lil Kim's "Get In Touch With Us" (just plain better) were the superior "middle eastern" tinged singles of 2002.

Christina Aguilera and Pink sold their 2002 last albums to the media as autobiographical. Both had their biggest hits written or co-written by Linda Perry. But neither disregarded Perry's contributions like Avril Lavigne did with The Matrix . Avril's never written a song in her life and probably never will.
