I had this same problem just now except I did have weapons. After designing a new ship I was unable to get off the design screen. Neither Clear, Save, or Done worked. Couldn't hit Esc to bring up the game menu either. Had to reboot my computer. When I did and restarted my game the design screen worked again.

Was the screen locked up, or could you still add/remove stuff from the ship, rotate the ship, ect?
Also, does this happen after you try and save a design? Or is this just trying to leave without saving changes?

I was able to remove everything from the design after realizing the screen was hung (i.e. after pressing the Save button with no result) but that did not free up the screen. Don't recall rotating the ship while the screen was hung.
Pressing the Clear, Save, and Done buttons did cause them to be highlighted but none of them did anything. I also pressed the Turn button and it appeared to advance the turn but I couldn't really tell with the design screen covering the map.

If you could remove everything that would meen that the screen wasn't physically hung...something was just stealing focus.
Could you send me your debug.err files after a game in which this happens ([email protected])?
I've never seen this before, but we obviously need to get it fixed.
Did this just start happening with this new build?

Correct, the screen wasn't completely unresponsive, just that none of the buttons mentioned above worked so I couldn't get rid of it.
I just pre-ordered the other day but it did not happen the couple of times I went to the design screen using the build just prior to this one.
I might still have the .err file from the game where the screen problem happened. Not sure if it has been overwritten already or not. How can I tell?

Unfortunatly the Debug.err file wipes itself every time you start a game, so you probably don't have the file we're looking for. However, if it does happen again, just go to your game directory and send the 'debug.err' file over to me and we'll do our best to squish the bug properly
