Victory conditions will not function

Hi Everyone,

I'm requesting help here in the forum because it was recommended by game support so forgive me if I miss any information in my post:)

I recently purchased the Galactic Civilizations 3 DLC (all of it) on Steam and now that I have it all, decided to play all of the campaign to have fun with the story of the game. To my understanding, the game is up to date with all DLC. My PC was recently formatted (Win10) and is running fast and stable.

The unfortunate part is that on the first mission, after completing all of the objectives, the victory conditions won't click over, and won't be satisfied. I have conquered the Guild planet and wiped out all of their military forces, and I have taken the entire map with colonies and influence, so I'm left wondering "now what?".

I have attached a dropbox link with my main save game, and the game's auto-saves.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I can't play the story if it won't progress past the first mission

You wouldn't happen to have a savegame before you captured the Guild planet?

I am kind of wishing I did, but that's all I have. I wasn't prepared for it to fail ^_^'

Usually I just play and overwrite a specific save file, some of the games I play can have save games that are 200mb each, so it's become a habit now to just use one as to keep storage usage low in general.

I have every related save game available in the link posted, should I try the mission all over again and see what happens?

Most likely. I replayed the mission today and finished it without problems. The save would have to be before the problem occurs so we can tell what went wrong.

Also did you take the planet by invasion or culture flip?

I took the planet by invasion, but I did try for a culture flip. It seemed that while the planet was in rebellion, the rate wasn't changing up from 0%, so after a few turns from discovering planetary invasion, I sent in a troop transport and conquered the planet.

I was fully expecting a win at that point but nothing happened and the game continued.

Just an update, I played the first campaign mission again and it worked this time, and to be certain I saved the game at key points.

This time, after the victory screen that displayed the statistics, the game crashed and so I sent a crash report with my email tagged on it. After I reloaded the game, it seems that thankfully the Xendar campaign has been unlocked, so I will continue the story. I have several associated saves uploaded in a folder called "latest saves"and should work on the link from my first post.

Just to be certain my computer isn't the culprit, I ran it through multiple torture tests of Cinebench (several hours at a time for days), Intel burn-in test (1 hour, standard and high), and also ran hours of Memtest86 at boot time. I also ran Winrar benchmark up for hours and did a smattering of other less intense tests (folding@home, etc) for another period of hours. No errors or blue-screens were recorded and everything has been stable, running fresh Windows 10.  That being said, these tests have been running since last week as I have been running unrelated cooling benchmarks to take advantage of the currently freezing weather here

System (might be helpful):

Intel 5820K, Asus X99 Pro, 48GB DDR4-3200 (G.skill, Triple Channel), Samsung 860 Evo 500GB x2 (RAID 0), Asus RTX 2060 6GB.

I had some weird issues when I played through the campaign also ... just make sure you save before you complete the last objective on each mission (it should auto-save every 5 turns anyway) ... I don't think the devs really care much about the campaign  :P

Haha yeah will do, I'll have to revive the old saving habits, but for now I'll stick with the auto-saves;)

My weakness is that I love a good story, and this one has had my eye on it for ages. Now that I have it with all the DLC, I want to follow it:grin:

I guess I'll just have to live with whatever the game throws at me for now:)

haha yeah I love a good story too ... got hooked on Galciv because of the lore ... glad I completed the campaign and now into random maps though ... each map is it's own story  :D
