You need to get a life. If you don't like the wall papers DON'T click wallpapers. It's as simple as that. And as Frogie said they only put in 25% of them in. So Blah Blah Blah you you. I don't normally go off at people like that but you just frustrate me. You try and make a website that get's over 1,000,000 people a month. I will go on your side when I see that.

Rich but when your work is good it stands out so does not matter if it gets pushed down...

Yes Doreen but how many "serious" skinning people use this site as opposed to the majority which just come here looking for new and interesting things.

I really have no problems with moderation. I think it is a good idea. The only concern I have is when your work is good enough to get through the moderation it still does not show to the general public unless it is "rated" higher than a 6 (wallpapers). Members can filter their views if they don't want to see lower rated works. I believe that often the "rating" has more to do with if the rater likes the person behind the work instead of the work itself. I'm not bashing the rating system. Honestly, ratings don't really bother me. I get more out of comments.

I'm still a little suprised that what they are letting in is only the top 25%From the looks of it the rest must be REALLY bad.The admins little critique lobe of their brains must be shrivelled up and numb by now.If you want to be cruel to your favorite moderator,ask them to look and see why your wallpaper was rejected.DavidK went back thru and looked at the last 1000 walls trying to find out something for me and I havnt seen him around much lately.I think I broke him.

I agree with Cross,thats what i've been saying all along.Rating determining visibility to the public has been the hardest for me to accept.You can take 2 equally talented artist but due to the problems inherent in the current system,one may show and one may not.One gets dl'd ,One does not.Getting a bad rate dosnt bother me that much,not showing to the public does.I have a WB with a 5 rating (right on the bubble)but its download count is on par with 8's and some 9's.Were someone to slam it again it would shrivel up and die.

I never had the time or patience to look through the wallpapers completelt but I would guess there are some good one there. Albeit I get my walls at digitalblasphemy I bet some of them here would be good as well. I do fell sorry for the admins. This must be hell on them.

I agree that uploading a WB, Icons, Cursor etc...Is scary business right now. Days and days and weeks of work just to see it pushed out of the top 50 'Newest Additions' within the first day or two.

Doesn't really matter how 'Good' it is, it's going deep into the site and the majority of users just don't dig that far

I have a Wallpaper I've spent the last 3 or 4 days on...I'm not going to even bother upping it until this blows over. I have also been working on a new mini suite...same goes...I've been working veeery slowly on it until this is resolved.

bliss980...This site reached those kind of numbers for a reason...'High Standards' and 'Moderation'...without that, it's just another place to go to get Wallpapers.

Actually...I over exaggerated on the 'Just another place to go for wallpaper'. WC will probably be #1 for quite some time.

Maybe they could split the new additions into separate "New Wallpapers" and "New Skins" sections? Even still moderation would be nice. Maybe the admins could have a "Recommended" button for the walls they deem best (in other words, the walls that would have made it before the moderation got loosened), so you could just search for the recommended walls?

That's true Rich, but I don't know these days I think just up the thing and forget about it, you stick it up to have it accessible for the others if they get it good if not oh welllll... (you get nothing either way) cept that you were kind enough to put it up to share, but after that no guarantees it will be reached, ripped or highlighted right? hehe

but you're right maybe most here don't dig too deep I really don't know...

I'm with you Zodiaq, I have a new WB nearly complete but have backed off on it till i see whats going to happen.It would be frustrating to watch it plummet down the list because of "swirly #8 version 3",4,5,etc...

I really like the idea of having a separate "Newest Wallpapers" section. At least that will give relief to many of us. Course it will not relieve the problem for the really good wall creators.

Another good one is no more than 5 walls at a time for any one author although I don't think it's as good a solution.

I, like many of you, am holding back my new work until I see it will spend more than 10 minutes on the Newest Additions list.

why let wallpapers show up at all. let wallpaper people just go to the wall sections. ain't this a skin site?

T-man is on vacation here.  Technically it's supposed to be where anything < 5 won't show up. For now, I'll hack it so that no wallpapers show up in the newest additions.

JayG: We are a skin site but we don't want wallpaper artists to feel like second class citizens. A good wallpaper takes effort. So we do want outstanding walls to be shown.

You have a point Brad, good walls do take a lot of effort and deserve to be shown there. Perhaps upping the bar to nothing less than 7 would work for now too.

No problem. To m y chagrin, most people know how I *personaly* feel about the wallpaper section but as an admin, my job is to make sure that the rights of all artists are protected and each user, skinner, themer, artist, etc. receives the respect and dignity they've earned.
