Galactic Events

I just received "Slowdown", it gives me the flavor text.  But no text on the effect of the slowdown.  I have noticed this since Crusade.  Is this intentional?

I am playing 2.8 opt in.

Update, "Neighbors" has not text on effects either.

Give Peace a Chance has no text on effects.

It is disappointing there is no response from Stardock if this is intentional or not.

3.02 is out, and still no text.  Still no answer from Stardock if this is working as intended or not?  At least say you are looking into matter, or am I just talking to myself.

I know that when I have played through the game that I have received text for all of these issues (including Slowdown, which reduces the speed of all star-ships for 10 turns or so). Perhaps there's an issue with your game? Have you attempted reinstalling?

If you could, please consider also posting a save game in which you have the galactic events ramped up to "abundant" (and maybe play the game for a few turns so that you encounter an event that's missing its text).

I could have sworn that the effects are mentioned in the flavor text itself, and not on a separate line.

No, the flavor text has never been there but they do work. Who knows if the text will ever be changed...

I verified local files, 4 corrupted will reacquire.  I launched game, played a turn.  I verified local files, 4 corrupted will reacquire.  Ok, fine whatevs.  I uninstall via steam.  Reinstalled via steam.  Verify local files, all good.  Start new game, play a turn or 3.  Verify local files, 4 corrupted will reacquire.  Double GRR.  Uninstalled via steam, deleted all files on computer for Gal Civ.  Reinstalled game. Verified local files, all good.  Launch new game, played original Terrans, for a turn or 3.  Verify local files, 4 corrupted will reacquire. Ok, I give, no flavor text for me.

I have no idea why, but it is normal to have some number of files (typically less than 5) fail to verify once you've started a game and then exited it.  I've always figured the game is updating some files where it's recording your configuration or something, since they seem to get updated whenever you start a new game.

Anyway, I think your problem lies elsewhere, and I'm sorry I have no idea where else it could be.

Edit: BTW, I'm not a Stardock employee.

For most users verifying files solved the problem. If you have an antivirus disable it and try verifying files again.

Also if you have multiple disk drives make sure Steam did not mistakenly install the files on separate drives.
