Ship Style error message...

Occasionally, upon startup, I get this error message: "The ship style (name) has failed to validate for the following reasons and will not be available:

+Unknown Ship Class

I also get an error that says that my custom faction can't use this ship style because it is an unknown ship style! When I go into the game, the custom faction that is supposed to be using the custom ship style has been defaulted to Terran ships! This happens randomly, and when I restart the game, it tends to start working again, with all of my custom ships exactly where they are supposed to be!  What is going on, and how do I fix this?

On an unrelated note, upon installing Crusade, the loading times when starting up the game have become extremely long, with my computer sitting on the splash screen so long, it acts as if it is "not responding"!

It's probably the locked files issue I posted about extensively a few days ago, that nobody ever really responded to.

Try logging out of Windows then back in. Once it can use the .bin files properly, the game should launch FASTER than pre-Crusade or pre-2.5-base-game, and that may also be why the ship styles aren't working. But please note restarting your computer does NOT work - you HAVE to actually use the thing on the Start Menu to log out of Windows, then enter your password again and stuff.

I found this all started around the same time the 2.5 Opt-In first went up, but it could easily be a Steam issue for all I know. It seems to happen at very random times.

Logged off, then back on without restarting the computer! Still having both problems!  I am on Windows 10 if that makes any difference!

Doh! Sure SOUNDED like what's been happening to me, lol. Oh well, thanks for trying. :)

I've gotten those ship style errors a few times before when certain ship models I've subscribed to on the Steam Workshop automatically grab additional ships and styles without any warning they're doing so, and then it's kind of a pain to get rid of them all, but if yours are all working correctly half the time that's obviously not it either. Sorry, wish I could help. :(

I had that problem a few builds ago.  First try validating the files from the main menu settings.  I had a ticket for it and the fix that Stardock gave me was simple and worked but for the life of me I can't remember what I had to do.   Easiest way is contact Stardock.   They were very quick in replying and coming up with a solution for me.

I know one thing that will cause that is if you have custom Civ's that have ships set to them and you delete the ship style it will cause the error you have.

The "unknown ship class" error means that one of your factions has a ship style or ship parts that are not currently installed.  One way that this may happen is if you make a faction that uses the "United Earth" faction and then uninstall that DLC.  Yet, most people don't uninstall DLCs so there must be something else.

Can you submit a ticket, include your mygames/gc3crusade/debugg.err and a zip of your custom factions?

Do you have mods enabled?  If so, that will increase the startup time significantly.

lunar google the admin account. There are two administrator accounts one which every one knows about. And one that windows has. Command prompt admin i dont remember the rest.

I think that crusades dont have all the ship parts that the base game had.

I read your previous reply, don't worry. But you're missing the point. I don't need to know how to fix it by using another admin account. I can ALREADY fix it quite easily with the logging out of Windows thing. What I want is to get it to stop happening in the FIRST place lol.

I shouldn't actually NEED to be doing this or anything else in any Admin accounts. If I do, something is wrong. And this only just started very recently. It also only happens when I've had Steam and/or GC3 running, so it has nothing to do with the rest of my computer.
