GalCiv3Crusade - Ideology

How does it work?

So, how does someone get points in Ideology?  I did one time, taking a Precursor planet.  Otherwise, 150turns in - not a single person in our multiplayer game has gotten a single point.  Almost every planet is taken.  Halfway up all the tech tree's.  I got enough from the Precursor planet to buy one Pragmatic reward - then, never again saw another point.

Tried to look this up using online guides, but have not found an online guide for post-crusade version of the game that is worth anything at all.  Which is almost a new game by itself it appears...

I do beleive Ideology planet events are currently bugged in MP.

You need to build ideology producing buildings, like the Preparedness Center for Pragmatic Ideology for example. This will give you points for your chosen Ideology. I don't play multiplayer but I believe Horemvore is right about that, I recall reading something about it...

Any more information on Ideology? It does not seem worth playing without guidance on a major feature of the game.

it would certainly help if the tool-tips were somewhat accurate.  Trial and error is fun, but I cannot take a game seriously until I've played a few "practice games" for each ideology path.

How do I get ideology points? I can't even figure that out, and I can't find any information anywhere I have looked.

colonizing planets for 10 (or more, with DLC)

galactic events

mega-events (with DLC)

certain ideology-specific buildings (once a path has been started)

I have all the DLC. Colonizing planets provide nothing. I generally don't care for events. I will turn them on just to see if I can get some ideology points

there have been issues with ideology on colonizing planets lately, they do not always do so nowadays.  Used to be, all planets provided ideology upon colonizing (unless in your home system).  Events will certainly give you points.

A few people have said that the planet colonizing events are tied to the global event settings, so if you have it set at none you might not get any planet events.  I have not verified this myself.

The colonizing events work again (exception: home system planets) in patch 2.2.

Not even one event missing so far.
