Crusade? You mean the expansion i'm supposed to buy? Why would I buy it when I can't play the game now? This "administrators" thing is a horrible idea. I've just hit the arbitrary, random, nonsensical cap in my game and now that I know what it is, well, I quit. I thought you were doing a good job making starbases usable, right up to the point where you wouldn't let me use them anymore.
Why can't i mine these resources in an empty sector of the galaxy? Oh, I guess my species has peaked at 20 minds capable of running a starbase, despite my massive and ever-growing population. If people are spamming starbases and abusing the system, MAKE A ONE-ECONOMIC-STARBASE-PER-PLANET LIMIT and don't just randomly cap military, culture, and mining starbases just for the sake of making a rule. Not to mention xeno studies. Ugh.
Really, this is an infuriating and frankly just upsetting change. This absolutely needs an off switch, and a slider for multiplayer so people can decide for themselves. Anyone know where it is in the config files so I can fix this ridiculous silliness?
RE: reading the dev diary - that's a nice suggestion, but some of us just want to be able to play the games we already payed for without embarking on a research project before we press "play".
EDIT: The thing that I THOUGHT was going to happen was that starbases would be able to mine local asteroids and thus produce their own upgrades themselves, rather than having to send constructor modules from a starbase that might be a thousand light years away. God knows where I got that idea, it's obviously lunacy i guess.
