Galactic Civilizations Role Play Group

I am not this type but I think in time you may find people that would. I have not seen any grouping in a MP sense aside from attempting. IMO this game is still in the very new stage with much more to come. MP, i have heard has a lot of issues which they are working on however naturally 2nd place to single player. Good luck in your endeavor, I simply want my brother and best friend to play it with me.

Someone on another forum suggested that we would need to use a chat system with Private Messaging options so that we can have conversations between two civilizations without people who shouldn't be present.  Seems like a good idea.

Right on Somoya, I have another friend that would be into it too. Would you be using a custom race? I plan on using a custom one I made with story and everything.

Ok great! I'm thinking next week I'll have some free time at night. Would hamachi work for it? It seems like it's online works well too. Would we just want to use its online multiplayer options?

Thanks, I appreciate it and will do. I'm thinking about starting a game this monday or Tuesday night. Would that work for anyone? Perhaps we can discuss what sort of map and ai's we want to have too. I always like having the Dregin because they keep things interesting. Anyone interested use steam? We can add everyone on steam so we can private message others and use the in game chat for messages that don't need to be private

Ha ha ok so here's the plan so far and everyone feel free to weigh in. I'm going to edit the OP too with this 

-every Wednesday or tuesday night starting around 6pm or 8pm we will start/continue a role play focused game.

-Role play focused games are games which the focus of the game is more in playing as your character/interaction between other races rather than simply winning.

- Civilization interactions can be conducted through the GC built in chat but Private transmissions will sent as steam private messages.

-we can use a small number of difficult ai's including the Dregin to keep things interesting.

-Victory conditions have yet to be set but overall should not be the focus to "win." My group The Bastionate do not strive to win by any means but instead strive to maintain galactic peace and stomp out races who would subjugate others.

- Research speed may be something we want to change to prolong game and make technology something you focus more on.

ATTENTION! FIRST GAME WILL TAKE PLACE THIS WEDNESDAY JULY 22ND AT 8PM PST! I will log on around 730 and get the lobby active so that will give everyone plenty of time to find me on Steam and get invited! Keep me updated if you want in or if other times would work better. We won't go too late for our first game and will probably only play for 4 hours.

Alright, first game started and Apollo and I both think this idea has a ton of potential.  It was tons of fun to see how our civilizations interacted and we are looking forward to doing it again.  Updates will always be on this forum!

I'm Curious what game settings you used and if you finished that game or no?

Hey Gauntlet!  We haven't finished the game yet but we are always into starting a game with more players.  This one is more of a test game.  We are using 3 AI's on a medium map.  I think it would be more fun to do a bigger map and higher difficulty though!

Alright, looking for input on when to start the next game.  I am thinking next week and potentially the weekend.  Let me know what you all think!
