Wow... Very nice.  Great graphics too.  I agree with the mobility and modification suggestions.  This could be a cool new game feature!

Edit: like where one could zoom into a "starport view" and build your ship design?

Looks like a giant ship is heading towards a distant earth. 

I'm still not completely sold on the idea of starports outside the planet but I'm willing to try it.
