SkinBrowser not showing recent skins

Tarkus-Sometimes I log off/shut down-re-start/refresh all data and it sometimes works.Other times it seems to be a different combo of clicks to get things in order.Are you using the latest browser??1.0?

On my machine, the "updated" section is not getting updated. The "newest additions" is being updated OK.

If you select View/Refresh Library Database you don't get the latest skins?

no. The updates sections is not updating and sometimes after a refresh, the newest additions section is showing duplicates. I think T-man or jafo or one of those guys made a comment on another thread about this. Too bad it's not searchable

For me the speed issue has become too much to take.I visit many sites daily.All other sites but this one are flying and working as they always have.I never know what gonna happen when I try to refresh.It's a dice throw.I really don't like dial-up but it would seem as if thats where I end up when I use the WC browser.

Everything seems to work fine for me. The latest updates are getting displayed, and i rarely have speed problems. Just a thought, I remember reading (a few months ago) that clearing your cookies might help with the speed issues. Worth a try, I guess.

Just to recap: I'm not having a problem with New and Updated skins (except for the occasional dupes that werewolf noted). I'm having a problem with it not showing recent skins in the specific WindowBlinds category (I haven't looked at other categories). And this is after refreshing the library database. Again, the last skin shown in Sidewinder, which was from a couple weeks ago.

Just refreshed the library database again, to no avail. Latest WB skin is still Sidewinder. Latest IconPackager skin is Crtstal from Oct. 11. Changing the sort method from Updated to Created doesn't help.

I've had this problem a few times. In my case I deleted all the .ini files from the SkinBrowser folder and deleted the wincustomize Cookies. On starting up Browser then downloaded everything again and all was well.

I will try that, Fuzzy, but jumping through these hoops to get SB to work correctly is getting old. Even the beta argument no longer applies. (sigh)

Okay, deleting the cookie didn't do anything, but deleting the .ini files fixed it.

The question is, why isn't this done automatically when refreshing the library?

I'm having the same problem. I know this is a dumb question, but how exactly do i find the right ini files so i can dump them? Sorry.. i'm not as good with computers as most of you are.

Browse to C:/Program Files/WinCustomize/SkinBrowser (assuming that you installed it in the default directory) and you will find nine .ini files. The one that you want updated.ini

hello JMan koop.I am having the same problem with updated on my WC browser.I deleted the updated ini file,then refreshed all data, but nothing changed.The latest updated skin I have is Sophont WB from 10/17.I can see later updates on the WC website but my browser is stuck on these updated skins even after deleting the ini file.Is there anything else I might try?Thanks for helping.

Ok, it appears that it was a server side issue. If you refresh the site update data it should be fine now.

I just checked and I don't have an updated.ini file..... What the heck???
