It's been a long time coming

Over the next few months we'll be giving a lot more details on what's happening to the Founders group. We've been working on Galactic Civilizations III for quite awhile now.  It is using a brand-new, 64-bit, DirectX 10/11 3D engine that is just amazing.

The team itself is much the same team that was with us for Galactic Civilizations I and II with some notable additions that have allowed us to do some really cool new stuff both visually and technically.

If you want to get inside info on what we're doing, make sure you get the Founder's Edition.

Thank you so soooooo much for bothering with Multiplayer now  <3 .

I absolutely love Galciv II, but never really bother with it because of a lack of an ability to play it with a friend or two over a weekend. Multiplayer is currently the best news coming from this announcement so far, and I really don't see it being beaten by anything.

  Yaay multiplayer Galciv!

Great project, SD! I am in for the ride!

I have a question, will this be like the others in that it will be turn-based?

Thanks

Just after GalCiv2 they said they were going to do III when they had the technology! Although I thought it would be much later than this and forgot about it.

SO EXCITE!!!

I spent most of the past decade playing I and II.  I squealed like a little girl when I saw a tweet that this site existed. Immediately became a founder. Can. Not. Wait.

Exciting news indeed! I love GCII and therefore decided to become a "founder" :-)

This is the first time I am doing something like this. I have been playing strategy games on the PC for 20 years now. While I am so looking forward to this one; I also really hope that FE:LH does not get forgotten and gets some future patching to iron out the last remaining issues. With GCII and FE:LH, Stardock will hopefully own two of the best strategy games ever made... ;-)

Awesome!  I'm looking forward to this.  :)

I haven't been this excited about a game in a very long time.  Good job and congrats on the 20 years and this announcement.

I can't even begin to imagine what the next two announcements are going to be if they are suppose to be bigger than this one.

Please, please consider releasing a Mac/Linux version of this.  Or at least try and make it more Wine-friendly than GalCiv 2 was.

Here we go folks!!! Havent played the series in ages. I've lost familiarity with it after Sins haha.

I admit, when I got the e-mail saying that Gal Civs III was announced I almost yelled for joy! It's been a long-time coming; but dang it, I'm so happy!

Now... I just need more money, lol.
