Possible stupid question about Starbases.

Just out of curiousity, is it possible to remove starbase expansions once they are installed? You probably can't, but I figured I'd ask.

Nope, choose wisely.

Or, scuttle the starbase and start over (you get 30% of all the resources you spent on it back)

i do hate that... but i suppose its a necessary limitation...

Build another one (i know, planets are allowed only 1 per faction) or more costly way, demo and then rebuild

30%percent salvage isnt too bad, and I believe you can upgrade higher with vasari.

Yeah, Vasari can upgrade it to 50% salvage returned.  BUT... scuttling the Starbase itself DOESN'T return any money!  You only receive salvage money for the upgrades.

So that large original investment in the SB's is lost forever, but it is possible to salvage some of the value from upgrades.

I don't know if this is a Bug?  It seems intentional.  Although harsh.

Tip:  If you research the Vasari tier 1 salvage tech upgrade before you scuttle your cap ship factory, the 20% additional salvage value will essentially pay for itself (the tech upgrade).

Really... I though you recieve back the cost to build the starbase, not the research.

As in most buildings and ships...but then again, when I looked at the suttle return, I did see the value sometimes goes up and then sometimes go down.
