Pirate Cap ships

Any way of tinkering with Sins to make this possible?

I would love that. It would be a awesome feature now when you got Star Bases. It just silly easy to kill of a pirate attack. Maybe even colonize planets that you can buy of the pirates or ofcourse fight the pirates for the planet.

Something I also would suggest is to add features so they attack on random basis. Also so they just fly around and disturbing your trades, destroying your crystal- and metalextractors.

That would be really cool.  They could both send out raiding partys and small fleets to raid your trade lines (not for the bounty, on thier own, like real pirates).  Another cool idea would to give the pirate base wepons, not just the turrets, but like a star base (if I was a pirate, i sure as hell would put some big guns on my base), then after you capture it, you would have access to the wepons as well.  Very useful since most pirate bases are located at a choke point.

You can make copies of existing capitals for pirates, and then add it to their raid listings in gameplay.constants.

So yeah, in theory it should definitely be possible. There is no way to change how they behave, though. So no random attacks or whatever.

I think he ment that there might be changes to the pirates in the latter expansions.  i hope so, the pirates really could use more abiltys, firepower and smarter AI.

They are getting worked on for the second expansion. ;)

goooood.   pirates are fun. (now if they made it a playable faction, like for a mutiplayer game host......)
