Trying to use Multiplayer but diffrent files

I just tried to play someone else but it said that we could not connect because we had diffrent files.

what does that mean and can it be fixed?

It means that the game data files that the two of you have do not match.

Make sure that you are both using the most recent version of the game, by using Impulse to update.

Also make sure that neither of you have modified any of the data files.

Also, if Impulse told you that you needed to reboot to finish installing the update, there may be temp files in your data\English directory which would also cause that message.
