Seeing that the launch is coming, I'm submitting some of the latest items that I've noted in beta 83:
1. Orphaned Shipyards: still seeing these from when a planet converts to another faction. The result is a orphan shipyard still "building" a ship but too far from any planet to get construction points. But, it still costs the faction to maintain it. Perhaps these should be dismantled, or perhaps be "given" to the faction that took over the nearby planet?
2. Shipyard sorting -- two questions/items here:
a) can the "User" sort only show those ships I've designed? I interpret "user" that way.
if not "a)" then can the ships be subsorted in some way (sort by alpha, for instance, or type)?
3. Diplomacy screen, rankings: 11 is noted as 11st but should be 11th.
4. Ideology, special centers: Eminence Center (Benevolent) and Preparedness Center (Pragmatic) both say on the ideology screen that they provide 10 points toward that ideology per center, but in the build screen they say they provide only 5. Which is correct?
5. Shipyard detail: I think the "Buy" amount is not displayed correctly. It appears the buy amount is for a full-priced item, but if it's partially built, it actually costs far less. I'm still checking as to whether the full amount also restricts a rushed completion despite the actual lesser amount really required.
6. Shipyards and diplomacy: shipyards do not appear as tradeable resources as other structures do.
7. Ship Sentry command: this works inconsistently. I had a colony ship adjacent to a toxic planet (waiting for the technology discovery in order to colonize it), but the sentry command would not work for the ship.
8. Research: SoilReclamation is listed as one word, should be "Soil Reclamation." Also, still needs a short description.
9. Anomalies and Research Advances: if no research is active (just completed, for instance, but the bottom-right queue button hasn't listed research yet), and a survey ship "discovers" an anomaly that advances research, those research points are lost. Best solution perhaps: if Research queue is empty, make that the first item that appears in the bottom-right queue.
10. (wish list) Diplomacy Screen: I would like to be able to jump to a minor or major faction's home planet from this screen. Mostly I would use it for sending a freighter, but frankly sometimes I meet factions (particularly minor ones) and have no idea where they are located on the map. Or, another solution: some ability to find a planet.
11. (wish list) Build completion: I really liked in GC2 the "built last turn" window. When I build, I have specific goals in mind for each planet and shipyard, and find myself now when a shipyard is done, selecting the bottom-right queue button (shipyard idle) to jump to the shipyard and then clicking done just so I can see what was built, then go back into the shipyard. Perhaps it's a bit nutty on my part, but I would like to know what was actually built (a la the Research completed notes we get).
