First off, great game, I'm glad to be a part of the beta! So far I've only played as the Yor, so these fixes may only apply to them. I'm also running on windows 8.1.
Now, for a few small errors/ideas:
In the planet construction screen some tiles have a "Precious Metal" bonus that say it is an "idea" place instead of "ideal" place, and it says to gain "some a profit" while it should be either "a" or "some" profit. I also can't tell if these tiles do anything yet, though imagine that's just still being developed as the interface is hardly developed to the point where you'd be able to do the math and see the difference.
The map does not scroll when you move your mouse to one edge of the screen, making exploring difficult.
The word "literally" appears far too many times, and is used incorrectly (jokingly? I appreciate the humor that goes into the game, but this one consistently bothers me) at least once, when a survey ship will get a tech upgrade and a crew members head explodes (I laughed at this-in a good way) and it is "literally" unfortunate. Multiple Yor techs also include "literal" in a redundant fashion. Maybe ctrl-f your code for "literal" and you'll see what I mean.
I've also noticed that the net income showed in the tooltip over your total treasury (which, instead of a tooltip, I feel would be better represented with parentheses, for example, if you had a treasury of 2500 and a rate of increase of +6 per turn, display it as 2500(+6) so you can check it at a glance.) does not reflect the total net income of all planets. If this isn't a bug, there should be a way to see where the rest of my income is going.
On a similar note to the net income display, showing the population out of the total possible population would be very helpful for population growth management. For instance, if you had 12 population out of a possible 18 population, display it as 12/18.
Ship Descriptions have a tendency to get cut off in the details screen, not fully displaying text.
Do starbases or resources have any effect yet? Starbase effects are clearly still in development, but I can definitely use them to acquire resources, I'm just unable to see if these what these resources do, if anything.
An option to cancel ship upgrades would be nice, though I could see how it would be "unrealistic".
Maybe this issue is with my computer (I'll list specs below) but GalCiv3 doesn't show up as an application on my toolbar while it is running. Perhaps related to this, using alt+tab to get to a new window (maybe to report a bug?) is largely impossible, so I find myself using ctrl+alt+delete far too often and risking crashing the game, which happens a decent bit. Is there some sort of bug tracker or error log I could access for these crashes I could send in to help development?
Please let me know if there's any way I could be more clear or helpful, I can't wait to finally play GalCiv multiplayer!
