You are right. Of course it could be always simpler, only the prod. wheel would be enough there, missing the rest of governors. It is also true that some features still need an instant refreshing in their values like the building queue and research bars (especially after wheel adjustment). I am unsure of this but maybe the reason for the late is that the wheel is on a separate window and that's why there is no instant change, but this one-screen only change maybe would solve the problem (as the building queue also interacts with the map immediately, being at the same place).
Edit: Also, currently as there is no Civ. wide summary screen for all the data originating from the planets (like GC2 did), the planetary screen stacks up every existing bonuses, out of events, techs, basic traits etc... So the screen is overcrowded with data either way. One time I had a more than a half screen tall floating data table for my economic planet... but it is alright because it is hidden otherwise. The same applies for bringing out the wheel.
I would like to see your different, simplified ideas too regarding to the planet screen, so we can have votes on them too
(The founders vault had some nice one though, but never seen implemented).
P.S. In my game I still cant see any instance of the research window popping up multiple times if I acquire more than 1 tech (like it is seen in the video stream). If I trade for techs, they give no prompt, neither the U.P. tech distribution does nothing (maybe the latter does not even work at all, as Ive never seen new techs).
