Out of Memory more and more problematic!

On large maps (let alone mods that allow 256x256) the out of memory not only crashes the game (usually when you try to save after a lot of turns) but it crashes my whole system for 15 minutes.... this is after long game play with lots of turns but definitely by around turn 250-300 there are large empires and lots of issues.

Will stopping every hour, exiting the game and restarting solve this?

Hope this will get fixed! Once this and the suicide rushes by sovereigns are fixed the game will be epic (and once it has huge maps)....

I used to have very frequent "Out of memory" errors which stumped me because, after the first one, I kept Task Manager running with performance and it didn't get near full consumption of my RAM.

Then I read it was an issue with July-and-earlier ATi drivers, and it was actually a memory leak on the graphics card memory. I updated to the newest drivers from ATi ... and about 90% of my "Out of memory" error messages and crashes have gone away. I still get some, frustratingly, but fewer. If you have an ATi card, make sure it has the latest drivers ... I can't guarantee they'll all go away, but most of the "Out of Memory" crashes went away when I updated from July drivers to the newest one.

I actually have a a Nvidia Ge force 465 EVGA and i get the memory leak every time i play after about 1 hr.

It has seemed to happen on most of the patches but now seems to be only error i get now i believe i had some direct draw ones or something like that before hand but i think that was the alt tabbing bug they fixed.

I wanted to know if there's any operating system that this game has had the least amount of bugs with i was thinking about reinstalling xp as with a dual boot so i can play this game more stably. I also have 7 x86 Enterprise and the game seems to run even worse on that. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated as i am a big fan of this game and a paid supporter, (trust me that last 3 games i actually paid for were SC2, SC1 and umm Counter strike Original & Source, I really hope this game takes off and stays going like it seems it is, this game has the possibility to be a great game, it already is just needs more to it. and the few glitches fixed up especially the Combat Mob Damage issues, god those are annoying, and better ai, i thought the 2nd hardest setting would be kinda difficult sadly its quite easy.

Intel Quad Core 2 Q9550 2.83

8gb ram 4x2gb Gskill ddr2 800

Nvidia 465 Evga 1GB

Asus P5N-D Mobo (ASUS SUX GO MSI , Asus was once good)

2x1 TB WD Black HD's In Raid 0 (The stripe one i always mix up 0/1) Nvidia Chipset 750i On board.

Windows 7 x64 Enterprise Legit

Full updates on everything Windows/Graphics/Hardware

Please open your debug.err file in notepad, and link the contents into a post here via pastebin. This will give us some technical information that can help troubleshoot your problem.

The file can be found in My Documents\My Games\Elemental

Be sure to copy the debug immediately after the error occurs; if you start the game again, the debug log will be erased and recreated for the new session.

Let me clear the debug log then replay tonite and make you a new debug log, caue i have done some system stuff wich might have it all out of date but im almost postive its 100% from 1.07 since i reformatted system, ill repost another one later on tonite for you to b4 & after the hotfix machater posted for me,

Oh BTW i posted i think in dif spot or on prev post here about the ruins dissapearing after you only go to one at tier 3, i made a save game right b4 going to one of them and having the rest dissapear, i saw in other post the were asking for a save from antoehr guy with same problem, but hers the save file

I am also getting Out of Memory errors, and instead of creating a new thread, figured I could use one already available. I'm on turn 355 in my large map game, and can only get in one turn until I get the OOM error. Graphics card is an EVGA GTX 280 with the latest driver.

As far as I can tell, the debug.err file contains all my system information. If you need anything else, please ask.

Also, has anyone yet reported the Empire Housing Bonus bug? This is where you research the 10% housing bonus, but it doesn't actually apply the bonus to your cities. I have a screenshot if needed.

Thanks that quick fix helped alot still happens here and tehre but not nearley as often .

Ive also noticed disabling all music except for sfx in game help a bit with game bugs. i turned alot of the options down even though im on a top notch setup, but it still helped with oeverall crashing and lagg in later turn games.

I want 1.08!
