Hey Frogboy,
The new version is much improved. Gone are the graphics problems that the last version experienced. And this version is much more stable.
Unfortunately, this version has a "missing text" problem as you'll find listed numerous times below.
Bugs:
- When building/editing a character, it does not list points remaining. Nor does it list what attributes mean.
- Select a character menu does not list a name above the picture.
- The news window that now appears is neat. Unfortunately the computer player moves while this is popped up, meaning he can get to the ?'s while I'm reading the news.
- Initial "news" didn't fit inside the text window.
- The text window is very narrow and hard to read.
- HQ level 1 description still has \n in it.
- When in the game, you can view your (or your opposing) candidate. You can still change the home state, although this doesn't change anything in the game.
- All words on the top menu bar (exception drop-down widgit and poll #'s) are missing.
- Introduction to 50/50 text has a misplaced line break. (Matter of fact, MANY different intro's and texts have typos and formatting issues).
- On the state info, it now says 5 thumb's up (or thumbs down) for different candidate. It wasn't intuitively obvious what this means.
- The state info doesn't list wealth, voters, or electoral votes.
- The turn button is blank.
- The "build operative" page is missing both costs and the name of the type of operative. Also missing the amount of political capital.
- Built a HQ level 1 in Pennsylvania. Appeared so far to the north it looked like it was in NYC. Zooming in made it more inside PA, but the zoom-out view was misleading.
- The special interest menu doesn't list the amount of capital.
- The various "news" windows that pop up on given turns have numerous typos in them.
- If you click on the "news" button, the scroll bar in the lower-right is off-kilter. Doesn't slide up very far, but goes down below the "down" button.
- Fundraising doesn't list the amount of funds raised or the current funds.
- Endorsement menu doesn't list the cost or amount of saved capital.
- Taking out "I favor" ads still say "candidate attacks opposing candidate".
- The same questions in interviews keep popping up again and again. Their answers aren't always intuitively obvious what the difference between them is.
- Had an HQ in Iowa but never got any awareness. At the end of 41 turns I lost Iowa because I had no awareness there in spite of numerous visits, the HQ, and national tv ads and endorsements. He didn't have any operatives there--it just wouldn't build capital for me.
- Overall polling info is missing labels.
- Got the same "half election cycle complete" news blurb at both turns 21 and 31.
- Found two military dudes through the ?'s in the game. The little clipboard looked like it was supposed to have a number 2 on (to represent the second). Unfortunately, the 2 looked like a 7.
- The number of electoral votes is still off. Texas is listed at 32, for example, and should be 34. FL, NY, PA, and OH are also off. Didn't look at other states. I believe you are using the electoral votes based on the last census, not the current electoral data.
- At the beginning of election night, a newspaper popped up to inform me that the opponent had attacked my position. (Did the computer player get an invisible free turn? Say, a week 42?)
- No state lines appeared on the lap on election night. This detracted from the ability to see what states went where.
- Florida turned light blue instead of the regular blue Democratic color. (And no, the selected state wasn't Florida)
- Iowa had been selected last before the election night came up. As a result, it was selected on election night making the border glow yellow. Would be nice if you could unselect any state before election night begins.
- After the game ended, went to options on a second. On a whim, I hit "resume". The game resumed on week 42! The computer player moved around and everything. Hitting next turn popped up the options menu again, but hitting resume went on to turn 43 and so on. Oddly, the turn clipboard was not present. And the state lines were not there. But otherwise the game seemed to be running as normal. Very weird.
Hope that helps!
