I'm sorry that I over reacted. I don't know what normal is for a girl. Right now I'm having a hard time with one of my daughters but it has nothing to do with your daughter. I remember another mother of a child with bipolar who said that she wished that she had problems with curfew and all the other arguments that teens have with their parents.

Your daughters' moods are extreme. Take her to a doctor. If it's pms, they can help her. I used to go through the same thing as a teen. I would have had it much better if my pms has been treated. I was lucky. I had very easy girls until they were sixteen, then they had a psychotic break. Normal teenagers are hard, but mentally ill ones are heart breaking. Everytime your teen drives you nuts, praise the Lord that she's "normal." She will grow u

I have a friend who lost her husband. He and I were good friends, so I miss him too. I always bring him up and she always cries. I feel cruel but I know that talking about it is the best for her. I'm sorry your friends don't know. Make a website for your baby, make a picture gallery of your baby. Make sure you mention your baby every chance you get. If someone objects, tell them that this is how you mourn. You may lose some friends, but you wil

Larry, what that terrorist did is evil, but consider the actions of Nat Turner who also killed women and children while they were sleeping. He was a slave with no hope of release. All actions not matter how "evil" they are have a context.

Whatever you do, don't drink and drive. Going to jail is bad. Living through it but killing someone is horrible and then there is the possibility of dying. Every year at prom time, a young person or more dies while drunk driving. They have all been warned but none of them think it could be them. Be wise and don't let it be you.

I agree completely with both O G San and Larry. Although I've heard about the impact of visual media, I didn't think that using evil as an explanation was what was effective.

Gratitude is a wonderful gift. I know that EMT's save a lot of lives but they probably rarely know the outcome.

Dear Illusive Dreamer, It is possible to learn another way of helping people. My family and I take in people also. Right now we have two guys in recovery from drug addiction. A third may rejoin us if he gets out of jail. Read some of my earlier blogs.

I'm from a generation that lived this way. What did we have in our thirties? Nothing. I think that balance would be best. Enjoy the moment, but plan the future.

When you have a static situations like that in Glasgow, things are only going to get worse. You basically have two groups of have nots warring against each other. Improve the economy somehow, mentor the children and things would change. People without hope, tend not to do anything but blame. Give them hope and some of them will have a choice to change.

You've got a good start, and I like it. Your point is clear--understanding decreases pain. Life is unpredictable and often beautiful. It is the broadest subject that one could study.

The Bible isn't inerrant in the modern sense. The numbers in many cases are symbolic. Ancient peoples did not understand math the way we do today. They didn't have the same respect for accurate counts. The story of creation was not refuting evolution but idolatry. The names for sun, moon and stars were replace with lights. The names for sun moon and stars are the names of gods. God was the creator. He didn't create other gods, but he created ob

This is dense writing, but I enjoyed reading it. My husband mentioned that what is missing in most public debate is the idea of the common good. This didn't use to be a liberal idea but universal. Both political parties believed in it. I was thinking about the debate about abortion which has gotten no where. Both parties agree that unwanted pregnancies are bad. Why can't the two sides work together so that unwanted pregnancies are lessened. Then

My mother and I didn't get along until three years ago. She is eighty nine. But when I came and stayed with her when Dad was dying, she appreciated my support. I visit her once a month in Salem and she enjoys my visits and so do I. So there's always hope.

I think that the telephone chick is playing the hard to get game and the too much makeup chick likes sex and probably doesn't see it more than that. The problem I see is not the chicks but you, what do you want. Another serious relationship or just some fun?

You write well. Writing free lance is certainly work, but putting your observations together and making them into a book can be fun. Books are easier to write than articles, because you don't have to worry about what the magazine's theme is. On the other hand a trucker's magazine would probably love some of your writing. Seeing yourself in print in very rewarding.

This is what the hometown newspaper says about McDemrmott Seattle Times McDermott is very popular in Seattle which is a liberal city and he doesn't have to worry about re-election.

Sometimes it helps just to write about it. Many of us have experience pain at some time. I have experience depression and I know how severe it can get. If meditation doesn't help enough, learn self hypnosis. It will help. Exercise is very good for depression and the fact that you can't probably makes the depression worse. There are probably pain support groups and they would help, too. For me talking about my problems helps a lot. If you can re

Most likely your study will find something. There is a reason why you wake up spontaneously. I went through a couple of sleep studies and was given a CPAP machine, which has made a complete difference in everything.

Your problem is first of all that your G.P. presribed it. G.P's know very little about specialized medications. I took a drug that cause nausea. My doctor prescribed an acid blocker at the same time, so my nausea was minimal. In addition, it took me four month to get up to the therapeutic dose. I suspect that Stattera is a good drug, but you would need to take it more slowly. Why are you going to a neurologist instead of a psychiatrist? They are
