If I create a race and give it the intuitive ability the hover tip says that it starts with free research. What does that mean exactly? On my first turn should I be able to select 1 or more cheap research items and get them right then and there? Thanks

This looks great. Thanks
Awesome! Thank you!
LOL, I read your response wrong. When I read it I quickly booted up the game and started a new game and scoured the game options looking for a include bazaar option somewhere! It isn't there of course. But yes, an option like that would be great. Meanwhile I guess I will turn of that DLC and play.
That would get rid of the mercs but all the other items (Torians, other enhancements/fixes) as well I believe.
This is just my opinion but is there a way to turn off Mercenaries? I want to run the latest version of the game with the all the other DLC content but would love to not have the mercenaries exist in the game as an option. I am sure it is just that I have not figured out how best to play with them but it kills my inner child when I am playing along, growing my civilization, researching, etc and one of the AI has hired a mercenary that comes along wipes out many of my ships and sta
I have ran down the research tree in order to obtain Atmospheric Cleansing. Now that I have reached it, I cannot select it? What am I missing? thanks
I tried the validating game files which they checked out ok but did not help. I did open a support ticket but posted here just in case there was a "Oh, that happened to me and we figured out it was....." Anyway, we will see what support says. thanks
It used to worked. Now I get pop up box that says: There was a problem accessing your galactic Civilizations III data folder. Error (3) The system cannot find the path specified. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times.
I do wish they would fix/support Steam Cloud Saves. I like to play on both my personal laptop and work computer, at lunch of course [e digicons]^_^[/e]
So it sounds like it will run under 8gb but performance will suffer? Just curious, when you guys run with 50+ factions are you using something like Gauntlet's Race Mod for variation?
I have seen a couple of comments around the internet that 8gb of memory is not enough to run GalCiv3. Specifically running GalCiv3 on largest map size available with many other races. Has anyone been able to do this or is there a limitation? I myself have a 8b Razer Blade (2014 edition) and play all the time although I have not ever started a game on the largest map with may opponents because I do not want to get have way into it and then it fails to run any
it runs on surface pro 3. Only issues I have had is with memory. 8gb just is not enough for the largest of games. I wish they could optimize that somehow for 8gb.
Quick question, I see the v1.6.1 opt in preview build but I also see vip_build. Any different? thanks
I assume you are referring to the topic "FOUNDERS: Mercenaries BETA"? I as well have issue.
I noticed my game updated this morning. Came to the forums to see what the deal is. Saw that topic "FOUNDERS: Mercenaries BETA" had recent post from frogboy but when I select it all I get is "Access Denied". [e digicons]:waaaa:[/e]
Funny how you could take the time to post on the forum but not read the official gamepedia that describes everything. I made a post about how I kept getting owned. After reading it and asking for advice, I'm owning. Simple.
Quick question, what is this gamepedia you mention? I may have missed that. Thanks for the tip
Nevermind, Found this on the steam page Adjusted the frequency of Precursor anomalies Balanced the Precursor anomalies rewards.
I hopped onto Steam and it downloaded a 3mb update to the game. No news about it on steam, anyone have any idea? thanks
I hear ya hardcore_gamer but it is Mel Brooks after all. Funny movie, have not seen it in ages. Brings back memories to be sure "It's good to be the king!". I remember when I first saw it at the theatre that I looked forward to Part 2 as if was a serious idea! Anyway, downloaded the stuff and will try in a future game. thanks

great read, thanks. I particularly like the Mick reference.

Thanks Frogboy for clarifying what Founder's get. I am somewhat of a space themed 4x junkie and have been for years. I buy a lot of them, mostly those that get above a 60% type of rating. I play them all initially but GalCiv series has always kept me engaged. I don't know, for me it has the right balance of being able to get involved and manage things and yet not get overwhelmed. I particularly like TBS vs RTS mainly because it allows me to not feel rushed.&nbs
