hmm...well thats odd. I suppose it explains why no one else has complained about it, but it doesnt explain why it happens to me! Another odd thing I have that I have seen no complaints about is that the text for what resources you are mining at the top right area of the screen runs over itself and I cant read it properly...I wonder if its related.

I am a little cnfused on this issue. I notice in my current game where I am Terran I see some of my iconian designs pop up in my shipyard window, which surprised me.
Ok I dont think either of you really got what my issue is, and maybe its not an issue for you I dont know. Maybe you have the tech tree memorized and never want to go look around in it. My problem is if I am researching some particular tech in say the colonization tree, and I click on the warfare tree, just to look at it , then BAM! I have changed what I am researching, I am now researching whatever was at the top of the warfare tree, I didnt even have to click
...start way too slow IMO. Of my default start ships. both the colony and survey ship have a move of 4, the scout ship moves 3. It doesnt make any kind of sense for my little scout to be slower than the colony ship...it cant even scout for the colony ship. And this makes it by far the most useless of the start ships. Later of course, scout ships become OP with all the sensor stacking, which I hope gets nerfed at some p

This would be useful, I noticed if you arent careful that clicking on the various boxes can inadvertently set something to "random".
There are 2 things that have bothered me about the interface: 1. Unless I am doing it wrong, I cannot go scroll around in the technology tree without inadvertently changing what I am researching. I know I can always change it back before I leave, but this can be annoying especialy if I forget, plus if I am scrolling on my opponents turn and it becomes suddelly my turn, I suppose I will waste a turn of research on wahatever I was looking at? Yes there is plenty of confusion over ship thrust and I hope it gets resolved in a way that makes it a useful thing to install on your ships. Currently I stay away from it because my understanding is it does nothing in terms of evasion, and the clsoing speed that you might expect to help for say kinetic ships appears negligible to me in the battle viewer. I've noticed it too....it does freeze with 2 players but is still playable. But with more than 2 it will freeze before 10 turns are done. I wont try with more than 2 again until I see some patch notes.

I would bet the name files have to agree on the name, thus crashing MP. Probably if all players had the same StarNamesText file it would work.
Having AI gang up on the winning player would make alliance victory a little difficult. But yeah, somehow turning up the heat on the winning player would make things interesting, even if the current winning player is an AI.
You dont have to shuttle 20 constructors to build a starbase, just research the appropirate techs and you can do it all with one or 2.
