Hi guys. Sorry but the Start Menu glitch is another one that is just not going to be fixed :( This is a glitch in Windows itself that makes that right area of the panel not draw when its location is anywhere but where it expects to be. (Well technically this isn't a glitch in windows, just an odd inflexibility!) Will keep looking for hacks to work around in, but otherwise, sorry :( Keep sending feedback on the other areas though that is helpful. So far I've been reading people have be
Dr W - Fences Support
Hi Dave. Yes that is what is being referred to. Unfortunately a fix is just not possible :(
I strongly believe that this is fixed for the next update :) No scheduled date for it, but, we are aware of the problem, and assuming its the same one we were experiencing the problem should be gone
oh and the reflections are not configurable in the program itself at the moment... you set them up in the skin file. though i do hope to put in some sliders to allow for adjustment. for the upcoming release i've tweaked all the reflections in each of the applicable skins to be super-sharp looking "in my opinion", but if you don't agree go ahead and make a copy of the skin you want to change and modify it up, i've left comments in the skin definition files! to modify a skin just right
lol oh whatever!! it recolors, plenty of people just want to make a theme their favorite color and thats all :) hue rotating / etc is pretty straightforward, its on the list ;)
Hrmm coloring function not new and improved actually. Though that is something that i'd like to do. (Hue rotating / adjustment option vs straight 'colorize')
next week's startin to look good =) for an announcement anyhow will know monday whats up
completely and totally redone config windows...also a go. ...not at all written yet, but in the planning/designing stages :)
reflections are a go... fyi :) i say no more for now
hehe nice zubaz. fwiw v1.0 won't include any kind of skinning, it's aim was designed around simplcity & usability with simple/clean good looks ; you can tint the areas a uniform different color & change their uniform opacity, but no per-group settings and no skinning/changing it from "shaded areas" to something more fancy/graphical. look for that in the 2.0 :) wrapped up on other projects right now, you may have heard some press about that whole Dell Dock thingamabobber and that Impulse
So not ready to do any announcing/previewing today, however, i DID notice that today happens to be the one-year anniversary of this thread  So in honor, I'll at least leak a tiny touch of details on our new product, "Desktop Fences" :) Available as a private-invite beta in the next month or so, Fences will work on XP and Vista (compatible with both x86 and x64 on Vista). Hoping to get the website up and running in the next few weeks in order to commence the mouth-watering ;) Oh an
mahahaha. *definitely* "coming soon." no kidding™. lol
for anyone who may be watching this thread... watch this space... big news coming in the next few weeks :)
Lheim: are you running Windows 2000 or earlier? Thanks for the post
Latest update, just to show a tiny gleem of life: "JMB1984: I added scrolling for when the little areas overflow :) Scrolling areas on your desktop...so now you can jam it with even more garbage than EVAR" Side note, man does actually playing out this concept have wayy more complications than one may have thought from just looking at it. But, that doesn't stop me from using it every day. (Muahahaha ;)) It will reach a shareable point one day I promise =)
Even Steam is skinnable...lol you forgot the quotes around "skinnable" frogboy
:) horray for docklets :)
Some very interesting ideas! I've made note, thank you
Hi, shanghei: in the current form flyouts can only show an odd number of items. So unfortunatly, if there's an even number, you'll need to scroll to get to one. The flyouts will show either 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9 icons at max, rounding down of course. ju_star: thank you for the suggestions! I've made note of this post for the next time we're looking to improve flyout menus, both of the posts here definitely touch on things we'd like to improve upon the next go-around. <br
Ivan: I've updated the current beta on Stardock Central. Does it help your issue of weather docklets timing out when you have a large number of them?
no news currently, busy on other projects. but little bits of progress get made in times inbetween hah and yes it can be reminicent of ProgMan at times ha. vStyler: like a folder, but whose icons are readily available for use. if you have vista, this program may even allow you to have the contents of a folder show up on the desktop in one of those areas in icon or detailsview however you wish...you can
Wowwwwwie wow, the "The lines 2" and "Circles" ones are freakin sweet!! Sunset Sea = also very very nice looking.
Haha first time I've heard of "apng". Animation may happen one day but the slowdown is its just sooo costly, paricularly in memory. At least now I can get away with keeping just 1 high-resolution-32bit-icon in memory per icon, I do that and I'm lookin at one for each frame!! Sure, people who use it should know better...buuut they'll still all call it a "pig" for even allowing that hah
Hi imm0rtalsoule - Not sure what you mean by "regular ObjectDock doesn't do this"? Do you have both the free and plus versions installed?
Hi Ashes - that's a real possibilities - I'll put that in my notes to take a look at! Thank you. By the way, is that 3...tabbed docks? Or a zoomed dock and 2 tabbed docks? Or which kind of configuration Thanks -Jeff Bargmann ObjectDock Lead Developer
