So...the diplomacy fix and Precursor worlds broke any challenge Godlike had? Sounds fair enough.
Well I am playing an evil faction and I am getting threats and mocking messages from almost every faction I have met so far. I was able to make friends with the iconians by bribing them and by forming trade routes and because we have a common foe but they are my only ally. Even minor races are trying to extort me for money.
Did they actually declare war on you, though? Also, minor races will try to d
Generally, the likeliness of a faction to declare war on you will depend greatly on your alignment choice. If you are Benevolent, Malevolent factions will most likely declare war on you, and vice-versa. Other Benevolent races will almost never declare war on you, especially if you are not close to winning. The Iconians, for example, have never declared war on me when I play benevolent. The Altarians never declare war on me either, even if they have ten times more power. Pragmatic races m
I just need mass delete ship components. :(
There is no better way. :( This is an improvement that we really need. Good thing I rarely build ships before endgame.
Nah. More Farms = Better. People are really underestimating farms in here. Population directly increases all three of your production types, even without their respective improvements present. Want to put all of your production into manufacturing without taking a huge hit to maintenance costs? Increase your population. High population will pretty much negate all maintenance costs even with little to no production sent to wealth. Want to have a research or manufact
That would truly turn combat into a paper-scissor-rock game, though, if one is always limited to 3/5. At least as things are, this is only true during early game where most factions do not have many techs. Later in the game, some of the factions if they are lucky, actually do spread their defenses out better. Besides, you can just as easily build a fleet of 10 ships to cover all combinations of the five types of defenses, and then stick to those designs without needing to reconfigure ships. i
Two things, Comic Sans is SO MUCH EASIER to READ and so is 14pt font! Ok so why not add a trigger or event the scales a faction (or adds one or two) after the player reaches 1/2 way into the Age of Ascension? <span style="font-family:
For your first suggestion, the problem is not the tech age, it is the "intelligence" part of "A.I." The AI is simply not very smart. Even playing on Godlike, the AI ceases to be a challenge in terms of tech or production by the time the tech age bar is completely full. For your second suggestion, I see this as simply being a hassle to to micromanage.
To me, it seems like it only makes it easier for other factions to like you. With a high diplomacy bonus, even war-loving races with opposite ideology would eventually become close to you, but it does not happen right away. Also, it seems like bonuses from star bases make more of a difference.
This is actually normal, and I have had it happen to me. You can have negative resources depending on whether or not you traded for them and how you used them. For example, if you started with 0 Durantium, traded with an AI for 20, used all 20 in ship building or Durantium Refineries, and then declared war on the AI that you got the durantium from, then your quantity will go to -20. This is because when your treaties involving these resources end, unused resources retur
Maybe your game is glitched? I am pretty sure it is as simple as (Morale * Bonuses) / Population = Approval%, not to exceed 100%. The easiest way to increase your Morale is to build Approval improvements, such as a Stadium. Your population will continue to grow until it hits the cap determined by your Farming improvements. If your current population exceeds your current Morale, you will naturally lose approval. I have never seen a negative Morale
thats really dumb of them. So if i go negative on my income, i can never get military production back until i build a a planetary project? lame!
No, if you go negative, the game should automatically divert all of your production to wealth until you are back in the positive. Then you would be able to resume military production as usual.
Unless you or someone intentionally modified your game files, then the answer is no. Keep in mind that things like starting location and nearby resources do affect the growth rate of AI factions. I have seen one faction have over 100K rating in one game, but 1/10 of that in another with the same galaxy settings.
Like I always say, planning a planet takes more time than managing it with a wheel ever will. I usually just tear down everything and place my own improvements from scratch. Rapidfire clicking!
How was it taken over? Just magically changed hands? Maybe it was traded or taken over without you noticing? Were the other two at war as well?
I do not necessarily care for more offense on non-military star bases, but more defenses would be nice, in case someone was crazy enough to attack my star bases. This is the reason I do not bother equipping my bases with defenses or weapons. These are simply a waste of constructor points because a fully loaded star base is still just cannon fodder for medium or larger ships (1v1). I usually just protect them with ships. Military star bases are USELESS!!! There, I said w
Except the large empire penalty was negligible depending on your galaxy settings and planet building anyway, so it is not like you ever needed the Patriotic ability to begin with.
The generated ships are based on your best researched tech. Other than transports, colony ships, and constructors, you should not bother with other free ships until at least in midgame. Unless you just have to have the ideology bonus that follows.
You only use up your ability to trade with other factions when you actually accept a trade. otherwise, you can look and cancel as much as you want. But I agree. Having a way to view the AI's list of planets, star bases, and ships that are visible on the map without having to abuse the trading screen would be nice.
Quoting Nilfiry, reply 15 This is not entirely true. You can just buy out their best planets relatively close to the center of their ZoC, and then turn those planets into culture planets. I didn't know they would sell their planets. If so that would
I never have a problem keeping the peace in the early game. I just make sure I have more and better planets and I do a lot of trading, granting open borders and diplomatic stuff. I seldom play over 400 turns and by t300 somebody is going to DW. I am usually quite a bit stronger militarily and they sue for peace in 4-5 turns, rinse and repeat. Currently the game is not designed for my preferences. It is fine for a conqu
Or you know, do like me. Research life support extensions and then group your planets together under one star base. It makes everything so much neater and easier to manage.
I had to drop down all the way to easy because the AI kept overwhelming me with numbers. I have decided that you need to have one or two shipyards turning out tiny ships just to keep your military rating up or the AIs will all jump on you. A peaceful victory seems impossible.
