It would be nice if the game had some option that allowed to skip AI moves/battles that are not related to your own civ. ("Skipping" = they would happen of course still but the player does not have to watch them, as they take their time) Also quick battles are nice, but IMO waiting for the final explosion to move on could come somewhat faster...esp. late game if you can fight several times per turn and/or fleet. Some games also allow to adjust

Thanks Edit: This seemed to clear up upon reloading the game I was able to cancel the project so I don't know the specific cause.
You don't need to reload the game, just lea
Add a 'max starbases per planet' option, hidden away if need be. I'd have it permanently set to 1. Boom, problem solved. (Actually the starbase system is still one of my biggest hates with GalCiv3 but that's a discussion that's been had 1000 times and will be had 1000 times more elsewhere [e digicons]:P[/e] )
Or just get rid of the stacking bonus. Sure, you can s
Looking at catering to small map sizes or quick games, when players do play long insane games but, not as many because those games take forever, doesn't mean that people don't play them just as much if not more total game time than people who play small, tiny games. Trying to bring attention that these stats don't always paint a full picture and they need to look at everything that's going on with all playe

Situation: I have a fleet of 10 ships, most of those ships have a range of 100, so I click the fleet and, oh no! The fleet can only go range of 50! Which ship in that fleet is gimping the entire fleet? Can you click on each individual ship and see a range? No. Can you double click the fleet and see the ships listed showing each ships range? No. You have to DISBAND THE FLEET then select each ship individually, select the ships with the proper range, cr
I just personally don't like the pacing and didn't think others would care if I made the absolute size smaller if I was giving them more planets to play on.
This doubles-down on making the game feel smaller, triples down really because movement rates are the same. More stuff on smaller maps, it's as if you want us to rush past the eXploration and eXpansion and get right into the eXtermination. Personally, I like the exploration and e

The 1.9 patch notes had this: Add ESC to close Ship Designer and Diplomacy screens I thought this would mean that after I have finished trade dialogue with a race, I could just hit escape a couple times to return to the galaxy map. This does not work! Why not? Why isn't the escape key consistently implemented throughout all the UI? I can escape out of technology, out of planetary management even from the designer. Yet

I like the idea of changing the opacity of the grid lines, I always thought they were too horsey. But now they seem too light. Maybe it's my graphics driver or monitor but my grids are barely visible. I hate to suggest this, because it's what everyone requests for all sorts of options, and it's probably not easy, buuuuut: A slider would be great here. :) Laptop: Gigabyte P34 CPU: Core i7 Graphics: GTX970M [img]http:/

I was just about to post a thread about this. What was the point of making 'Huge' maps smaller? If someone's PC can't play it, couldn't they just choose 'Large' or something smaller? And the density is really claustrophobic. What I like to see when I start a new game is a vast, daunting galaxy that makes me doubt my ability to win. And since movement wasn't scaled, everything is explored that much quicker. The first X is the

Have this been addressed? I felt in the 1.9beta game I started I was getting too many warnings from the AI about influence when I wasn't near their star systems, nor had I put a starbase in their system. I just started 1 game in the beta, so I don't know if it was that one game or a persistent issue that has been addressed in 1.9 Thanks.
Which raises another question, why can't we capture shipyards?
Why can't we capture ships? Or Starbases? Boarding missions would be an awesome addition.

I think internal politics and factions should have a huge impact on the direction a space-faring civilization progresses. The cost and direction of research and military being a prime point of contention. I look forward to a game that models this well, Stellaris tried but fell short, it's just to easy to ignore the factions. And this type of addition will help the late game a lot, if you have more things to do other than just wipe out the other races or spam influence ba
Starbase minimum distance reduced from 5 to 3 tiles.
Why is this? Now how many starbases can I fit around a planet? Managing starbases is one of the more annoying micromanagement tasks. I've always wondered why starbase bonuses stack. Towards the end of the game I have more starbases than planets.
Add ESC to close Ship Designer and Diplomacy screens.
Jeez, I've been looking for this fix for ages. So annoying not being able to use esc in every menu. Now if you could make the optimization techs easier to figure out in the trading screen so if I want to trade industrial optimization I don't have to read every tooltip for every tech to see which one of those is actually Industrial Optimization.

Sorry to necro an old thread but as a new player this is freaking annoying. I have a fleet which has a range of 22, but I know most ships have a range of 46. I cannot simply select each ship and see which one has the shorter range. I have to eject them all and look at the individual stats of each ship. Why, when I go to details, do I not get DETAILS? A suggestion would be to show the range of each ship, at least in the details section. This goes for the upgrade
