Sorry for the necro, but this bug wasn't fixed. I'm playing 1.1.12 and encountering the same bug. My healing pools upgrade to meditation centers but there doesn't seem to be a way of building stadiums or upgrading an earlier building to stadium.

You mention putting a starbase within range of a resource and both your planets. I thought that mining rings give no bonus to nearby planets? I thought it was only the Economic ring that gave direct benefits to planets? The exception would be if the resource is an artefact (like a culture or research artefact) rather than durantium etc. So is there any benefit to having a mining starbase within reach of your planet?
Quoting erischild, reply 139 Horizon does, I'm not really a fan of their tree but it is more realistic. Basically your research is pooled and you can focus on 1 area and 1 specific tech within each area at a time
There are a LOT of technologies in this game. I've never been able to get through more than half of them in one game. Although, others like to play really long games, so I suppose it's possible to get them all. With so many techs, I have to make choices anyway. +1 for having specializations. +1 for meaningful choices (they make for good games) +1 for being able to trade specializations. Might not be 100% real-world, but it's a fun mechanic. +1 for the devel

My poor Survey ship doesn't stand a chance of even getting one of them. Oh well; guess I wait a bit longer...
Just playing my first game on 5.3. My survey ship encountered pirates in the 2nd anomaly. No option to withdraw. Survey ship was easily destroyed by th
I'm going to be a jerk and necro this thread because the bug still is not fixed as of 5.2. My apologies if you fixed it in 5.3 although I didn't see anything in the patch notes. (And yes I'm aware that you've been busy with urgent issues like crashes, so I'll cut you some slack.) From Steam discussion ("Slaughtertorium?") started by me, Rhonin the Wizard notes: There's a problem in the files. Arena - says <Upgra
It does seem odd that there are no negative diplomatic modifiers for putting a bunch of culture starbases on the border and intentionally flipping AI planets. I know when the AI places culture bases close to me, it is a negative modifier in my mind. I usually counter with culture of my own, but I'm not averse to declaring war over such a thing. The AI doesn't seem to care. We'll see how the nerfed culture works in 5.3. I have yet to start a new game.
As others have said, yes please keep armor providing some minimal defense against missiles and beams also. It just feels right.
What about keeping the armor the way it is in 5.3 (kinetic defence only) but making a new class of defence modules that are lower and cheaper, below the current class of starter defences, so that at least we could fit all 3 defences on one small ship at the start of the game? As it
