Just wrapped up a ~400 turn game as Resoln. Completed the Master Quest. Overall, it was fun. From the start I was hooked when I completed the quest that gives you the three spearman brothers. Early game they were very effective. It would be nice if the mercs and monsters obtained from quests or camps were upgradable, unless they are intended to only be viable for a limited time (if that's the case, maybe have the camps disband after a while, and the units t

This was a very welcome addition. Less management demanded from the player. Will mercs and monsters be upgradable in the future, or are they intended as an early to mid game stepping stone, no longer useful once late-game techs are researched? It would be cool if the Knights of Asok I started the game with could progress to late game powerhouses.

Currently reading Donaldson's Lord Foul's Bane, and Meyer's Object Oriented Software Construction. And yes, read Dune. Also recommend LeGuin's Earthsea cycle. Agree w/ vampire comments . I think of Stoker's Dracula as a "high vampire". These are the old demons of the world whose powers extend far beyond blood-sucking and hypnosis, and whose malevolence and cunning can ruin entire civilizations (or a city in Dracula's case) in p

I just realized the benefit with Healing Nectar: one combat turn can heal 16 points, instead of taking two turns via Salted Pork.
Still havent found a use for those items... except selling, so by all means raise the prices, raise the prices!
I've used them in tight spots, and usually try to have each hero with a couple. Just tonight Lady Irane was able to defeat the five golems in the Arena quest w/ the help of pork

It costs 10 gildar more than Salted Portk, but provides the same amount of healing... Also, buying two Salted Porks provides the same benefit as one Healing Nectar. Maybe Healing Nectar should provide more than 16 healing (economy of scale and what not)?

Just loaded up .91, but noticed immediately the improvement of cursor on screen position versus game map position. Hopefully more goodness to follow. Played most of a game last night as Resoln under .90. It was a blast, and this morning I had to tear myself away to go to work (there really aught to be a clock in the HUD ala Civ4 :) ) Will continue to play and post, but overall an entertaining improvement!

Then again, why would I surrender to a superior foe if they haven't found me yet? Who knows, I may find a dragon somewhere and make a comeback... I know it's not in the game (yet), but really; why surrender when your enemy doesn't even have your location? I've seen two sides of this. I was able to make Tarth surrender without finding their last city or sovereign, but I haven't been able to make Gilden surrender, even though they a

Dictated surrender to Tarth. Immediately after the surrender is accepted in diplo screen, camera moved to Lady Tarth in an undiscovered region of the map. She was flagged as immobile for 1 turn. The fog of war did not dissipate around her. After I started next turn, Lady Tarth is nowhere to be found in my settlements. Will send out scout to general region of her last appearance, but I thought she'd relocate to a city, like any other

When banished ogre defeated in tactical battle, just as it hits the ground the screen flashes white for an instant. When the game returns to world map and ogre falls there, another white flash occurs as the ogre hits the ground. Wait, I need a little clarification. Has SD already pushed the beta back to next week (22 April - 28 April), or is there still a chance we may get it in the next three days?

Why wouldn't you want to register? Half the fun of the P'Dox forums is seeing how many shiny icons you can accumulate :)

Great update. Looking forward to next week. I like the narrowed focus, hopefully this will drill down to the essentials of "fun" in FE. Well worth the week. Even two (but please, just one more week).

Planning is all. Planning is everything. I've just come off of a weekend of coding to what I thought had been an adequately detailed design, only to find out that significant questions had gone unanswered during requirements gathering. At least I can still use some of my utility classes. Planning is all. Planning is all. Planning is all. It's like some sort of gom jabar test or something :)
