I tried the activists and I didn't seem to get the bonus. I'll try some others tomorrow, but someone else said they weren't getting the bonuses either... ~SDC~

Whats wrong with simply not spending the wasted money? Or atleast not spending most of it? It seems like the obvious choice, and it makes complete sense without any complicated formulas or justifications. ~SDC~
Pump out a scout ship and lead those guys over to the drengin and let THEM deal with it :) ~SDC~
What about a 'ranged weapon tactic' thing along the lines of invasion tactics? Causes alot of damage but costs alot of money. Stuff like missile salvos, ion cannons, etc. Better military modules could make the weaker ones cost less, and open up newer more powerful ranged weapons. ~SDC~
That'd be awesome. How about some even larger galaxies too, for some really epic games? ;) ~SDC~
I know it doesn't model private enterprise, my point is that it is absurd to think that billions of people rely on you to give them every single little thing they need. Manufacturing centers and such are just abstract things. I think of them as pumping money into defense contractors to help them build stuff faster, because they only help you produce military ships; not cars, airliners, tvs and mp3 players. ~SDC~
"BUT INDIVIDUAL PLANET SPENDING SLIDERS ARE NOT THE ANSWER. In fact I think this is a BAD idea. Why...because you have people on a planet that are relying on you to make their standard of living acceptable...in game terms this means giving them work (manufacturing) things to buy (a lively and stable economy) and things to do (entertainment). If you don't build these facilities directly on the planets in question, that you basically have a whole bunch of unemployed people living in poverty..."<br
Lotsa games these days are using ogg. A big reason is that they don't have to pay any licensing fees for it. It sounds nice too. ~SDC~
"Here are a few typos I thought I would share. Most may have already been pointed out but the bug list here is way to large to read and from what I have seen a few of these at least may not have been mentioned before. All are under the abilities section of the empire creation screen and are as follows: Under Speed the last bit should probably be ‘maneuvering’ instead of ‘mauve ring’. Under Trade it should be ‘amount of money’ instead of ‘about of money’. Under
Sounds like more evidence that individual spending sliders are needed. ~SDC~
Same thing happened to me, I just hit the retry button in that diolog and it was all good. ~SDC~
Moral should pretty much manage itself. So long as your economy is good and you aren't torturing your citizens or anything, everything should be peachy if you ask me. ~SDC~
http://www.stregone.net/misc/error.gif LOL ~SDC~
Don't forget no influence, can't join UP, no trade, etc. So basicaly you have to rely on a military victory only. ~SDC~
How about another scifi channel show, stargate? LOL ~SDC~
Hmm, possibly. Next time I'll just use mozilla's built in editor to save it. I grabbed it with IE, since thats what opens links in SDCentral (which is really annoying :P ) ~SDC~
Okay, it should all be working now :) ~SDC~
Ah shoot, you didn't use relative links in the html...one moment... ~SDC~

My mirror should be updated in a minute. I think I overloaded your first site just downloading the new files, oops :P had to get the rest from the 2nd site. ~SDC~
I think if you are able to build 10 starbases in one sector and not have to sacrifice anything else, then you already have the game won. ~SDC~
I find the good interface to be nice and clean. I don't see whats difficult about it :p ~SDC~
Do all attacking ships attack the highest defense defending ships, and then all defending ships fire on the highest defense attacking ship, and so on, untill they are all gone? So its a good idea to put alot of chaff ships with high defense, like battleaxes or something, along with some corvettes and frigate type ships, so the battleaxes will absorb the first salvo and the other ships can return fire? Whew, thats a run on sentence if I ever saw one. ~SDC~
And if you run outa money and can't afford propaganda your morale is gunna take a hit, possibly causing the planet to revolt. So you might as well not bother with propaganda unless you accidently dropped too many colonists on a sub class 15 world. ~SDC~
Yes, the modules only affect the sector the starbase is in, unless it is on a resource and you are talking about mining modules. ~SDC~
