That score is nice, but i think being top on that list 3 days in a row takes more then a semi-indy developer and their strategy game. In my opinion, something is sketchy with their way of collecting their data.. most probably they value visits coming from a game related site (aka this site) too high, as a comparision: www.gamestats.com : current place is 375

Actually this is the worst review yet, they do give half stars too it seems, so they gave it a 80 out of 100 which is lower then most other reviews who rate it at 90 or higher...
But nothing is selected... Actually, in GalCiv, you can't select Text at all, anywhere. You can't place a insertion point either, which can be annoying, especially in the Ship Builder where I often want to insert stuff at the end (ie. changing laser III to laser IV) , but the insertion point is always at the beginning, thus i name my ship reversed (ie. II laser). Another issue with the naming of ships is that it does not select everything when you mak
The Encyclopedia Galactica is probably one of the most boring universe fact guides in well, the universe. The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy defines the people who wrote the Encyclopedia Galactica as: a bunch of mindless morons who will be the second to go after the sirrus cybernetics corp. in the Galactic Revolution. Basically, the Encyclopedia Galactica is a jumbled book of useless facts, therefore, don't buy it.
in stardock central, next to galciv 2, is a little +. Press that and look if the multimedia pack is downloaded. The multimedia pack contains the sound files, so you can't play any sounds without it. If that is NOT the problem, look in the galciv2 directory (it's in your "programs" folder). There you should find a file named "debug.err", open it with text edit, and post the part about your soundcard here.
I thought I'd have time till 21.00 now it's 19.50, and the game is fully installed. however, I have a beef on the oven (1000kg!). So I need to water that now and then, if I play galciv, i am surely distracted enough to forget it and burn the roast! Why can't you play yet?
I want neither, but a qucker development of new games (especially society)
First it wouldn't update and always count to 3 repeatedly... so i deleted the demo (using the uninstall button) and then everything was fine. So if you run into trouble, move the demo folder (if you still want to play) or delete it, maybe it can help you as it did help me. (The startup screen is gorgeous! Too bad that it shouts "Thou shall not pass")
I am unable to scroll the quarterly report, even though it has text beyond the text fields size.
I like the research screen of beta 4, it's much more accessible then older versions. When moving the tech tree, it does not stop moving when i release the mouse outside of the GalCiv window, it's pretty irritating and makes me wish there where no window at all. Same goes for the main screen (map), if you release the mouse outside of the GalCIv UI, it sticks to the mouse and you have to click again to "release" it. Also, when I mov
Beta 4 is pretty stable for me, and prettier then ever However there aree some minor things i will adress in different posts. I get the GNN in front of the StarPort when I click "go to planet". reciepe: 1. when something is finished building, the GNN pops up. 2. Click on "go to planet", the planet screen pops up. (so far so good)<
NOOO00000oooo......
I guess if you hate big alliances, then you won't win in this game
So much work
You have to use sdc (stardock central) get it here : http://storage.stardock.com/files?/sdcentral_setup.exe
