OK, I decided to do some empirical testing just now. Patched to 1.02., started an Insane Map with everything cranked to Abundant (except for Extreme Worlds which was set to Rare). Opened up the console and hit Colonize All. This is what I got: Reduced 56% <img src="http://i.imgur.com/iYdL0Pg.png" a

I think that money being used should be incorprated into the game with some events 1. Economic collapes. 2. Trade problems. 3. Workers demanding better pay. 4. Possibility of ships defecting to pirates because they are 'old tech' and want to be refitted. 5. Corruption and/or political economic espionage. 6. Religious/social problems needing money to fix. These events could then be handled with the t

Next thing you'll all be dancing on a float as it glids along the canals in Amsterdam wearing sailers outfits.... [e digicons]:andrew:[/e] But yeah, ok, I'll join you and dust off the denim hotpants. Just for the Frogster. [e digicons]:inlove:[/e]

I've been getting it with opt-in and opt out. A fresh restart (of my computer) sometimes cures it for a few turns or so but then it returns.

Around the mid-game point I keep losing parts of my sound. Sometimes its in battles (in the viewer) sometimes its on shipyards/planets and other times its on the main screen when I'm going from screen to screen. I have a couple of save files but cant (for some reason) attach them here.
Or just have a really really boring game and have 1 billion stars and like 2-5 intelligent races all the others are too primitive to go to space.
Hahahaha, Oh the horrible truth of it. Or the joy of sub-light travel as games last for hundreds of years to colonize the closest half dozen stars.

I have to agree with this. I can remember being only 2 planets away from winning a huge map in GC2 and the Jagged Knife tuned up and stole about a third of my colonies including a couple of mega production centres and then started knocking out huge great ships in about 3-4 turns a pop. [e digicons]X([/e] Was harder to sort them out than the rest of the galaxy combined had been (of course because of all MY loverly worlds and techs).

I haven't read the entire thread but I'll add that the clunky-spamy starbase maker that we have now is very annoying when one is trying to sort out more than say...3-4 starbases, and when one gets to 10-15 (or more) in the mid to late game during a lull in hostilities, it's a crashing tedious bore. I've read some good ideas here: Planet sponsering and 'Heavy' class constructors that can carry more moduals are two ideas that I have personnaly conc

Must say this has happened to me to with an alarming regularity. A lot less on smaller (Med) maps and less still if I do a computer restart every 15 turns after the 100th or so. I'll try and do a bug submit report if it happens again. Oh and for the record I have a rock steady rig with 16G of RAM and a GTX 760 gfx card so that should not be the problem.

If anything this mechanic should be a based on the distance from your empire capital planet. Structures such as manufacturing capitals and research capitals could (if built on any other planet than your homeworld) mitigate this penalty. It could then be an additive to influence, both positive and negative, bepending on the situation. Personally I dont think its a bad idea, it means you have to consider a little more carefully about the pla
