against ai or humans? starbases and other defenses are great against the ai, but not so good against humans since they will just stand off and destroy them with ogrovs or bombers. Heavy cruisers are good bets late game, since they have far more health than frigates and so can survive for longer against titan aoe. Kols are not very good at this time. Make a couple for the flak burst and that is it, but before that you need to have at least one marza, akkan, sova, and du

I'm sorry for you. No meaningful replies in like, four hours... We do it because we can, because we want to, and because we do it to spite you.
Thankyou. THERE YOU HAVE IT FOLKS! PROOF THAT HARD AI, WHILE STUPID, CAN BE DEADLY TO AN OPPONENT NOT FULLY PREPARED FOR THEM, ESPECIALLY WITH THE ECO SLOT!!!
Before anyone says wtf?, I was bored and looked 200 pages back and found this. Funny how priorities change...
When double teamed be two humans it's sometimes a somewhat teneble position. An AI with 50% more ships than you have total makes it very difficult.
Indeed, defensive tactics are far better against the ai than spam. My apologies, I did not read that post. However, what would happen when the player in the eco spot minidumps and all their resources are given over to the AI, while it would be better long term to have a human doing it, short-term the AI will make a massive fleet really quick and swarm the nearest enemy. If the game is teetering on the edge, the AI's additional forces will crush t
he said he engaged in a spam war, not a defensive wall.
that would be wonderful. ok yarlen, what is your opinion on the kol battleship? is it or is it not horrible? What in particular may or may not be required to be buffed in order to make it actually used?
it would still rape them easily
whatever...
true, but in a straight up spam war, as he implied he attempted, an Ai with a 1.5x advantage would own you.
lf's are good in the very early stages of a game, perhaps just after corvettes first come out. as time goes on, powerful area-of-effect abilities come into play and make them totally obsolete. For instance, an advent rebel titan at level 10 will probably obliterate 500 light frigates in 10-15 seconds
My idea for the forcefield on the previous page wouldn't be too advent because it's specifically geared toward the vasari. Your idea is not, so it is naturally more advent-related than TEC.
I would give you karma, but the karma I beat out of a lawyer today is so paltry that I need it all to feed myself.
let me get my chair... *wears it as a hat* much better, though I can still hear it...
Indeed. Money is the root of all evil, thus women are evil^2 However, women are desired, so does this desire therefore mean that all men are evil as well? Could the elusive symptom of this be the phenomenon called Sad Lonely Seleucus, colloquially known as trolling? What this discovery could mean for the medical field is astonishing, however, all data pertaining to this is strictly limited by the board of homeland trolling security, in order to save face if
Do not queue up a bunch of research at once. You may be tempted to research all 4 of those laser techs at once, but when you queue it up, it takes the resources from your total. It's far better to use those resources in a better manner, and research that stuff once the previous one finishes. for instance, based on the proven equation of: Women = money * time time = money thus Women = money^2 it is fa
DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF EXPECTING THAT YOU'LL BE ABLE TO DEFEND YOURSELF WITH STARBASES AND SUCH WHEN YOU HAVE LESS AREA THAN YOUR ENEMY!!!!! It may be an effective tactic against the ai, but against any human you'll get crushed. All out expansion is the order of the day in sins, and don't forget that.
If the human player drops while in any kind of good economic situation, the AI would have a massive advantage. Even normal AI's make very good use of their available resources (not so great tactical choices, but they're great at making the ships). The only thing they're bad at is making that economy in the first place. If a human drops and has a good Eco going, the AI will have a field day. If you try to engage in a straight up spam war,
Juan, that's too Advent. Adaptive Shield and Flak Burst -half the antimatter. You really don't want passives on a capital, AI screws up worse than Gump vs Unix.
GRG also needs a serious buff. At present, kols would be useful for destroying other caps and titans, but the am cost is too high, even with flux field. Also, the kol really really needs a 50%
Everyone keeps suggesting making adaptive forcefield a passive to fix the long suffering Kol. That is the wrong approach, the Kol is best as a ship that balances its offensive output and survivability. Still it is too hungry it needs a passive. I'm going to offer the unorthodox choice. Make Flak burst passive, tune it obviously but make it so that strike craft take damage whenever they are in proximity to a KOL
the AL need something to make culture viable. The devs probably didn't make culture all that good because they didn't want it to become the dominant playstyle. The problem with this game is that instead of having each faction have several different equally powerful playstyles (which would be great) there is only one real playstyle to the game. off topic... sorry... AL upgrades that are necessary for my happiness:
