On larger maps with lots of planets is Ancient better than getting Patriotic or Colonizer? If so I might try it. Theorycrafting: Ancient bonuses don't matter as much until after the colony rush is over. Ancient might give out huge bonuses later in the game, but Colonizer lets you spam 30-40% more colonies. So... your thoughts?
I don't see how the trait colonizers

There is indeed a tooltip with accrued manufacturing points. Thanks for the tip. I haven't noticed it actually working before though, have to do some tests but I'm sure you're right. I knew you got overflow in research if you have a later tech selected, you're saying there is overflow even if you do not? More testing required I guess. The interface could be more helpful, that's for sure.

I feel like I must be missing something but as far as I can tell there is not. Even Galciv2 had production overflow. The amount of micromanagment to set every planet individually every turn so that you don't waste production is driving me insane. And if someone didn't follow what I'm talking about; Let's say you have a planet with 25 manufacturing points per turn. You place a factory costing 30. It tells you it will take 2 turns. First turn you get 25 points push

The only difference I can see would have any effect is the speed, otherwise a trade module is a trade module. I know you got different incomes depending on where on the route the freighter was but a faster ship not only goes to the profitable end faster it also goes to the less profitable end faster. Doesn't that pretty much cancel out the difference between a slow and a fast ship?

I guess that makes some sense. Then at least the overflow should be used somehow, converted to BC maybe? Or you still have to micromanage it by making sure you are not wasting production which is annoying.

Okay, so even though I've had access to the Alpha for a while I haven't actually tried it yet but I have played a lot of Galactic Civilications 2 and here are a few thoughts. I didn't play any later expansions then Dreadlords so if any of this was implemented or has been discussed for GalCiv 3 I haven't seen it. Research overflow was applied to the next project except when researching the last technology of a branch, then you had to adju
