Playing with Alpha 3 tonight I noticed none of the planets I colonized show as icons in the menu. Its just a black circle with nothing there with no planet icon. Edladner , Nice ship! One question though... Are you utilizing the the offset feature in the shipyard? I only ask because your ship appears to be stacked and not blended. The more you use the shipyard the better it gets.

I posted this same idea and request a few weeks ago on the Steam game forums and no one seemed that interested as there was no reply to my thread, I am glad to see I am not the only one that would like to see shipyard parts from GCII TOA ported over to GCIII. This would create an opportunity to create ships styles we couldn't get done in GCII. I say HELL YEAH!!!

To keep this idea in the scope of reality then all Dev's need to do is limit the scope of a Mech hull to TINY size. Yet, allow player to research weapons and countermeasures options for Mech suits, There is really no need for HUGE mechs for combat. This fits into the reality because as of right now mechanical combat suits are being developed and tested for soldiers.

HOLY SH%T!!! The new shipyard UI looks AWESOME!!!! I cannot wait to get a chance to use it! Holy MOLY! I love it!!!! I have done pretty well with the GCIII Alpha Shipyard given what we had to test with but the newer interface just look SO damn good and pretty easy to use as it was for GC 2. I am gonna go crazy making the ships I really wanted for GCII! I cannot wait to test it out! WELL DONE!!!

As a long time RTS gamer the idea of Mech combat on the space base or planetary level in not that far fetched. I do like the idea. I think this could be achieved with a Mech building factory that works the same as the shipyards. It would need some RTS aspects and can still be turn based. How about Planetary Base building with a Mech factory that can be researched and implemented for ground base combat
