They did just say that they didn't want to have planets sponsoring multiple shipyards because of the potential issues they could have from it on the last dev stream, unfortunately for that idea. In addition to multiple ship construction (building squadrons/wings/flights), fixing your second issue (smaller ships suck due to lack of secondary equipment) should be based on better fleet support abilities. Namely, non-promethion-costing upgrades that boost speed and range, at a set

Though I understand the gameplay reasoning, making a ship smaller doesn't realistically make it harder to hit outside of the delay between firing and impact. Even modern-era targeting tech can easily lock onto small aircraft, missiles, and in some cases even projectiles like mortar shells, and in the case of beam weaponry there is no delay between firing and impact. Small vessels would only be able to dodge missiles and kinetic weapons by staying so far away from the enemy tha
1.) Best aspects of diplomacy: - Lots of options. Sharing maps, pacts to share research/wealth production, trade pacts, United Planets votes (aka voting with you in next council), etc. I want to be able to make a lot of different diplomatic offers, including treaties, trades, and gifts/requests/tribute. - Europa Universalis has a very large +200/-200 relations rating, that prevents the AI from randomly betraying you; I don't understand why no one else has done
Biggest threat when facing the Borg, are the Queen's Diamonds. At level 6, they are the absolute lifeblood of Borg capital ships since they prevent disabling. Make sure you focus them down first, rather than attacking any cubes that can resist disables (not to mention assimilated capital ships). I should also point out, I've done alright against the Borg by setting up shipyards and just pumping out mirandas, since the Borg are basically wasting their antimatter by ca
Alright, I got caught off-guard when I saw it first start going up 1 at a time, and it looked like it wasn't going to stop (because it went up way past normal levels).
I did recently notice it went back down when I entered a system outside my normal cultural boundaries, but all the damage values were still ridiculously-high (1164 on the Deep Space Cruiser). Currently the Harbinger is only at 1130 beam and 86 torpedo damage although the level 9 Enslavers I have are all up to 1537 beam and 364 torpedo damage. EDIT: I also just watched the damage start to go down on the battleships (1 at a time again). Where do you wa
I just noticed something pretty confusing in a game as the Borg. I looked at some of the dominion ships I had assimilated, and realized their damage was continuously going up. I thought this might be related to an ability one had triggered since I'm not fully familiar with the Dominion lineup...until I realized that it was happening to all my assimilated ships. Endlessly. I'm looking at a level 8 Enslaver Battleship with 1459 polaron beam and 345 torpedo dama

I don't like when a company completes a game, then pulls a chunk out of it to sell as DLC at release; however, when a company uses DLC to provide continuing support for a game after its release, as Stardock has done with FE/LH, I think its a great thing.
It's not that I don't like DLC, but there are 4 types of content additions in
The good thing about artwork though is once they get into the late Beta stage, is usually when the art team is basically done and the coders are busy bug-fixing and the designers rebalancing game elements. So this could be an example of a late add-on to the game or an early DLC, although I don't want too much talk about DLC since I don't want Stardock getting the wrong idea that we tolerate DLC [e digicons]:O[/e]
I really like the banning idea. It even adds a certain kind of intrigue to it if you put in an ability to betray the treaty but in doing so puts you at war with all other races.
As long as the United Planets doesn't resemble the World Council in Civilization 5. I cannot understand what possessed anyone to include a United Nations that cannot be defied, is set up without your consent (as in, set up by you since yo
I'm wondering if something could be added where you could shift between hardpoints on or very near a particular plane, using the arrow keys (or something like that). That would help a ton when you're struggling to get a component to attach itself to the correct side of a ship, and when it finally does you could more smoothly add it to the desired spot on the hull. Maybe this would toggle on when you hold alt so it only does the horizontal plane, or vertical with shift.

And then what changes happened due to rebellion?
They didn't add titans at all in the game and there are no loyalist/rebel issues, any changes made to the game are just upgrades of the existing content.

I have no idea why, but I just love the very specific idea of fielding Tamarian ships (my favorite experience with the Borg honestly was capturing one of their deep space cruisers).

Capturing things = Spoil of war
Right, if you look at something like the 30 years war, most of the devastation it caused was soldiers plundering the land they stayed in (that and plague of course, which killed more lives and caused more damage than the entire series of wars).

I recently heard about a problem with loading normal save files, although the autosaves worked. Otherwise I'm pretty sure the screwed up name is because the non-English symbols are being converted into HTML or some other codes, the way spaces are represented as %pbsl or something.

I feel dumb for having to ask this, but I've been having issues posting my screenshots either to steam or to this forum...the instructions for doing it on steam are for some reason baffling me, and the insert image button didn't work when I tried to insert them here (best I managed was an empty square). To my knowledge, Stardock and Ironclad had no real experience with competitive multiplayer before SoaSE...the mentality needed to create a good SP game is not necessarily the same mentality needed to make a good MP game, and so it is understandable that a studio well versed in SP can have some problems trying to make a good MP game on the first try...perhaps most importantly, when Sins
Sins has some issues with the larger maps with lag, although SoA2 shouldn't be as bad since there are fewer ships and especially fewer fighters. Then again, my last Borg fleet had -4800 supply and -25 command points (with both fully upgraded, so something like 8000 supply and 41 capital ships), so those ship caps aren't exactly set in stone :P It may be trade ships too, but again I'm not really sure; I just noticed it more often in Sins: Rebellion than in the vanilla
