upsurper
Okay back to topic what i believe makes games look dated is not trying to embrace their own unique art style and making last but trying to emulate others and lacking polish in the experience. And then static plain objects make graphics dated. If a dynamic element can be introduced that can add years in my opinion to the game. For example water/star maps/stuff like that
Thanks rjhughes67 for your offer and myfist0 for your fantastic cloud offer which im using. Im going to be importing these in Adobe After Effects and make a short movie or something with them :) Ill make sure to link in forum and such. Im using Element3D if anyone is curios
Will the UI be scalable, for example Sins The UI is capped at a certain width/height will GalCiv3 support scaling. My eyes cant handle tiny icons :P
For images get the public download link to show thumbnails correctly... the "dl.dropbox" link
Wow this is pathetic of Rebellion Developments
Basically Sins Eye Candy Polish?
Hmm okay. I can get a trial copy of that quickly if i need to :P What script would you be referring to Goa?
I think the biggest thing that will date a game is the shadows and shading of the game, for example minecraft, the biggest killer was a lack of shadows and ambient light affecting the shadows Minecraft also originally released with programmers graphics in place when the system was still being developed.
I just want it to maybe be a dynamic mist or something besides gray
I really do not like the gray tone of the fog of war, i would rather have some movement of fog with shadowy shapes or something to spruce it up a bit, the gray tone is just off putting and bland
I'd like to play a wildcard (if you will). Does Minecraft look dated? Reduced 90%Original 628 x 345
Yes the vanilla is dated, but mod support adds longevity to games which is why stardock is keen about adding it into GalCiv 3 as user friendly as possible Minecraft with 2 Mods and 1 Texturepack <img src="http://i.imgur.com/wyzx2pV.png" alt="" width="
It would be possible to export as a standard model format im guessing. But most 3D printers have their own propriety modeling system. So model export im assuming yes, conversion would be up to 3D printer manufacturer

http://programmers.stackexchange.com/questions/60544/why-do-game-developers-prefer-windows This article is why OpenGL never really took off for developers,
And all this above me is how you push game to and beyond its limits :P
Got to test this out on my GTX 760 and went on extreme settings and got around 30fps for scenes. Where I dropped was when motion blue effected everything :) looks amazing!!!
So in the ship designer do we get to pick materials for like the ship, for example a matte non-reflective black, or a gleaming reflective black etc such as that?
