Sounds interresting I think the survivability of the world will depend on how close it is to the star in question, and even if it was at the outter edge of the solar system, most of the population would die off before they could enforce measures to protect them. afterall the light and heat alone would stop after a few days/weeks for a planet a lot further away from the star than an eart

a lot of people here are MP fans, just because we dont see the point of MP in GalCiv 2 doesnt mean we only play single player games.
TBH I doubt MP would be used too much within GC2, even a small game would last hours, and with a decent sized game with a few human players, it would take weeks. let alone a massive game, which would take months. it just doesnt make much sense to have it, and I agree that it would have been a waste of stardocks resources to put funds into something which would probably ruin peoples opinion of the game. Yes, reviewers might complai
Yeah good point, but it would still add a bit more strategy to the game, but then again i wouldnt have been opposed to needing to mine starship fuel, and being able to stockpile that, as that would tie into the whole logistics thing. I.e if you wanted to send a huge annihilation fleet on a one way mission to wipe out a few strategic planets which could cripple your opponent, i'd be very costly in fuel and ships, but it would hurt the enemy
It would add another strategic element into the game, as you could specificially wipe out the A.I empire's food planets, and thus send the empire into a state of turmoil. So any food planet would require a heavy defence force. could be a lot of fun tho.
I like this, tho it still causes problems if your allied with 2 civs, and they go to war with each other. As its annoying having to break an alliance. You should be able to say "well, im friends with both of you, so im staying out of it" I wouldnt mind some sort of "spoils of war" pact either, to replace the current war-pact thingy. This would allow each side to specify which planets/starbases it wants to capture or destroy of the targ
I agree, it deffinetly needs to be governor based. However I think you should be able to choose whether the governor does each improvement. Perhaps a popup when the research is complete where it gives you the stats of the old and of the new building. so you can compare the difference and decide whether you want to upgrade. Ive noticed a few times on my smaller worlds that upgrading some buildings ends up messing with my economy.<b
Yeah. Perhaps have a Wrench Icon for Items under construction? its easy to do and gives us a clear distrinction as to whats built, and whats not build yet..........
I think it should also include your distance from them. its pointless them declaring war on you if you are outside there relative sphere of range. Ive had this happen a couple of times. I end up having to fit a few of the largest hulls with 2-3 of the advanced rangte extenders(cant remember the name of the component atm lol) and then quite a few engines. and I almost always ruin there economy/ship production. It should also take into account
How do you get Ambassador access! Seems a bit unfair....I'm already jealous. I think the whole idea of having Ambassador Access is that you will actually post useful comments and give them as much feedback as you can. They havent got the access just to play it <img src="smiles/Wink.gif" bor
well. its simply using resources which could be used on other area's of the game. areas which are probably more important........... Yes. it would probably be a nice feature...... but given the choice of having that and something which has more impact on the game.......... then I'd have to choose the latter every time. but then again that might just be me...
yeah. take me for instance. so far ive not had a game last for more than like 5 minutes before it CTD's. so its a case of sending in the error reports. But atleast I can feel safe in the knowledge that once the game is complete. I will know for a fact that I'll be able to play it . and to me thats what really counts. as well as being able to put in my thoughts on suggestions and alike.
I'd still like to see some sort of instantanious travel..... even if we have to have 2 sorts of ship types. for instance, using a Dune inspired method. you'd have the Space-Folding ships, and the standard ships. The SF's are huge and carry the normal ships within them, and then transport them to the destination......... Granted they would need to be hugely expensive, or atleast expensive compared with the mass they can carry withi
well, i think there is going to be a scenario setup thing like in AP. so I assume if you want to do that, then you'll likely need to create a scenario for it.
perhaps some sort of Stellaconverter? it could change the land mass of the planet, which would destroy some of the structures/population centers, and possibly increase the usability of the planet, but possibly decrease it. It would give it an interresteing edge to planetary bombardment. you could go after a P16, and get a P10, or you could get like a P20...
Another idea, might be to have stars which have a finit life time. that you have either re-ignite. or in the case of a weapon extinguish...... perhaps this could damage/destroy closely orbiting planets and perhaps shift the pq of other planets in the system, either good or badly...... it would add a bit more strategy to the game, because you'd need to make sure your enemies cant get near the star. as well as the fact that more than 1 empire can inha
Well, one way in which this could be possible, that im not sure if anyone here has thought of, (Unless they've read the saga of the seven suns) What about Gas Giants? most of them are made of Hydrogen/Helium, which is basically the fuel in which star's need. Though the only way i can think to implement this. is to have Gas giants that have moons, and those Moons then become like mini planets. or perhaps it could raise the PQ of all Ice planets in t
if you make lots of good relevent comments/suggestions which are useful, and give plenty of feed-back then you might get your rank upgraded for giving them support. just need to make sure its all relevent and helps them.
it would be good if there were a true sence of terraforming. so when you get to a high level, you can actually turn gas giants etc into usable planets, i.e a random usabiltity of like 1-20 etc
Well, I agree with the others posting so far, and I couldnt reakky say it better I Beta tested the first one (I think I was one of the first 100 people to order it, cant remember for sure but it was something like that) so I for one Adore the way stardock develope games. you cant really get a much better developer. Im not quite sure what you mean by appeasing beta
I think your missunderstanding the purpose of the current beta build lads, this is just to make sure that the game is stable and that most if not all the code/hardware conflicts are ironed out. The later builds in the coming months will handle the interface and the gameplay parts of the game.
only if they pay like the rest of us who pre-ordered. There arent any free beta's, if you pay, you get to test the game, put in your 2 cents as well as get the finished game at the end of the testing phase.
