currently there is no in game console available in the vanilla game. a few of us have unlocked the console through modding the game but this won't be available to you untill 1.2 and modding support. there is always the chance that the console will be added in 1.2 but haven't hear anythign about it so don't get you hopes up. if ur interested in getting the console pre 1.2 then come chat with either me or Malard on channel #dgmodding in irc.stardock.com or visit the website
Can we have a game mode added that is 2v2v2 or 3v3v3, with new maps made for more then 2 teams?
I can answer this one: The way the game is build there is no way for there to be more than 2 teams unless a major overhaul of the LUA is done. GPG will most likely not do this since it will take a lot of editing to the dgdata.zip. so the short answer is no, this will not be added. However there are those of us in the community that are (as yo
ok, i got one: Is there a chance that the General/Assassin catigorzation will be removed as more hybrid demigods are introduced? If not: Say a mod that removed the catigorization gains more popularity than the vanilla game, would SD/GPG reconsider the catigorization then?
if we get a mod sectiona nd the SDK at the same time all we'll have half the community working on the same mod and the other half wondering how they can also start (making the same mod). there needs to be a little bit of pre-modding talks before hand so people can work efficently together. currently a few of us are trying this over IRC. anyone interested should come join us at irc.stardock.com on channel #dgmodding in a few day we'll post up a bigger explanation to
i agree... with 1.2 drawing near its really important to get the fundimentals of the forum section down before people start modding the same features
Hmm. So you mean to say that each cit has 3 portals? That means 12 creep waves in total. While i like the epicness of it all, i think some computers would crash. Maybe remove the middle path? Good job anyway .
quick solution to this would be for the middle path and the side paths to spawn at seperate time. say soon as the side grunts spawn and reach the opposing wave then the middle portal is spawned. 8 portals at one time is actually pretty standard for lar
quick idea herre: how about a feature that allowed you to "draw" on the mini map to give stratigic commands and such. specificly i'm thinking things like being able to draw arrows or circles around locations on the map which showed allies what ur talking about. how the hell would this be implimented? an idea would be for it to be a button that you hold down and then drag across the map (which would then show up in the mini map like ping). no idea if thi
this is as far as i've gotten. as you can see, new map with 1 player on each team. problem now if figuring out how to create two new team (you can see the screen division with the light and dark... once that's done i'll this much closer to making the map
quick question to any dev's out there... Frogboy mentioned that granny will be needed in order to create models for the game. QUOTE:
Q: Will the SDK require Granny to create new models. A: Yes. Ultimately, to get new Demigods in, the user will need Granny.
so while in pre-SDK mode i thought i'd do some digging. turns out that granny cost $12500USD per Product. QUOTE
well i'm about 50-50. i know where in the lua script to edit and can even make maps so you can only have 1 person on each team... or even 1 on one team and 5 on the other. the problem is when i try to add a new team in it tends to have fit and die on me. still in testing but i think i'm gettig pretty close. i've also got it so i can create new maps that appear in lobby, with its own name, discription and even loading screen. problem i'm having with
been a while since i posted anything so i thought i'd demo what i've been working on for when the SDK comes out. so far i've almost got it so you can more then two teams on a map so i thought i'd start out with a map that works off that principle. Basic idea is like a lot of people have suggested a while back, with a map where 4 teams each attack each other. this map specificly works with the conflict of working with two demigods but having 3 seperate grunt paths. wi
why was the August 2009 - The Monthly Demigod Community Question Thread locked? it was actualy very constructive and many good questions were being asked. sure there were a few flame posts but they were quickly buried but some decent ones. if you're going to shut down flamers can u at least just remove their posts so the OP can get a ch

then make the towers range less then say Sniper's Scope III (which is 6 extra yards). if an fully range upgraded tower brought just short to say 5 extra years then it means a reglus that wants to tower-pond with no worries for his own HP will have to commit 2 more skill points, but still able to do so. personaly i don't see why the tower range isn't already larger then Snipe Scope I... i don't think i've ever played a reg and not spent a mesly single point on the extra ran
i'd definately like to help with this but i have two major problems... firstly i have no idea how do it (or at least not very well) and secondly i just moved so my design computer is currently being wiped (but will be up and running in a week or so?) so just wanted to see what i can do in the meen while? if u point me in the directions of a tutorial for animations i'll get on doing abilities or do u need visual stuff? point me in the direction and i will work for u [e dig
Is there a chance that the concept of Generals and Assassins will be removed to make way for a more logical and non-discrimative class of "Demigod"? What was the design rational behind not rewarding killing demigod owned minions? Is SD/GPG willing to "officalize" and distribute community made maps, mods, items, demigods, and the like if they gain popularity?
[e digicons]:omg:[/e] .... wow ... just wow... i think frogboy would be proud that his pseudonym is being made into a wraith-invoking demigod.
The General plus their minions equals an assassin, so attempting to nerf down minions or make it so that the General needs to keep their minons next to them at all times removes any tactical gameplay or benefit of even having minions.
if this was true why are there so many builds that do not involve minions with generals. in fact having minions is ususaly just one or two builds. oak hand stand up to any assassin with either a shield or heal build with no minions i
Again, I would gain nothing by fighting Assassins if I didn't net a kill. If one gets XP from minions, it's only fair that they get XP for dealing damage to Demigods. In short, I disagree with this idea.
my counter argument for this would be that its only fair for minions to NOT give exp when assassins can have stats equal to a general plus his/her minions. from my rough calculations i think erebus can get up 5000hp (250 dps) with minions at 12000hp
Maybe they should add a toggle for EB that drains HP/Mana. When active, he has the chance to create minions, at the cost of his own life (I like HP better, goes with the whole vamp thing...). When not active, he doesnt lose anything, but he doesnt create any minions either. Lets say every minion costs 50hp at low levels, and scales up. EB can stack health with the best of them as it is, and its not like ooze is considered crap because it does the same thing (Constantly, rather then
so i was just reading the post for a the collection of funny and exciting custom favor items like new costums and such and was working on an idea for something that made purple paint lines apear behind demigods so you could tale the when i realized that this idea actual had some strategy game play worth. so after a little more thought i came up with some similar favor items that increase players knowledge of the the game to help in strategy. haven't come up with names or anything
Then just do what i suggested a page ago, have minion improving skills and items only work within x number of yards of the general.
that could work... another idea would be rewards for minion death to effect those minions that leave their general. so say a bunch of strageling monks lag behind and get eaten... gold for that. of maybe an erebus build sends a mob of minions to squish a tower on the other end of the map and u tp in to kill them... gold for that
cause shield and heals can't be walked across the map without their creater to do massive amount of damamge. if minions were actualy cannon fodder and did no damamge what so ever then sure i'd accept them not giving reward... but since they can 3X or ever 4X ur dps i feel there is a small problem
if u have the demo version then u can only pley with others with the demo. if u have the full retail copy you can only play with people wiht the full retail copy. however if u have the full retail copy u can install the demo seperately and use the demo as well to play with other with the demo.
