I'm not a dota leaver, i never played that much dota, only with friends. But i played thousands of WC3TFT games, and it was usual, even in tournaments that when u were sure you had lost the game u forfeit and leave, i got one defeat, the other guy one win and that is how it is supposed to be. I never stayed in a WC3 game watching the dude kill every single building until the game was over, that is just a lost of time and ridiculous. But hey, i'm not saying one should leave whe
We need diversity! Only one tipe of minion or only special minion is not enough. If player want to use general without minion it's their strategy. As I see DG, the strategy part is not having general but making decision (wich equipement, wich spell, where can i go, do I need to attack and push forward or do I need to defend my citadel, etc). But some change in the idol system could be usefull. For exemple: Give pl
QoT attacks closest target when in closed form and changes target when it goes out of range or dies. Her minions do ranged damage, u don't see their damage because its low dmg, but it looks like they do attack...
Quoting DatonKallandor, reply 7You can outfit Generals with combat items, and not take any minion skills, and you'll be able to perform just as well as any Assassin. That's not how Generals should work. So we assume. There's no easy route out of this though, unless you count rebalancing generals as Assassins and just adding the Generals concept in a later patch (for the record, I think that's not the best idea out there). Special minions and that's it, i sometimes get the priests lvl3 if have lots of money. But imagine if u had some special ability that used/ consumed/ involved the yetis in any way, that would add depth and option. Would be nice and add
I gave this sugestion in a thread in the sugestions forum: Why not remove the default 3 types of minions (melee/ ranged/ priests) and just leave the generals with the special minions (Yetis, Treethingies, Spirits, the other one) and at the same time give skills to the generals that require/ interact with the minions. Just like the QoT skill where she sacrifices a minion to gain HP? One type of minions, stronger maybe, would be easy to control, fast sumonable and give interacti
That said, there's no reason that a Rook player shouldn't be able to buy speed increasing items when everyone else can. Putting his base speed lower would ensure that everyone else at least has the chance to be faster than him though.
I completly agree with this statement.
I think Rooks stun is avoidable, not saying its balanced right, but one can expect it and avoid it. Like QoTs siege damage, i may not be balanced, but you can counter it if you play it right. I agree that the game needs balance, but removing the uniqueness of the demigods just makes the game dull.
Ok, thanks for the replies, I have to try the minions more times, and look closer [e digicons]|-)[/e] I just found them so useless that got tired of picking them.
I think, and that can be still added, that they should make more dependant skills, like in the QoT skill tree. Make various skills at the end of the tree that are dependant from the skills you leveled. It would be a sort of reward and uniquenesss in the branches u leveled, right now all skill trees are much linear.
I found more and more post of players that use generals without minions. Well this is not intended for sure, or else there would be no minions or no Generals type, just assassins. With that in mind, and having played with all generals several times till now, i honestly find minions useless (sumoning some priests to get healed works!!) and hard to get them doing what you want and fast. Speacially when u start having so many of them that seams they get confused and dont a
The question is right there, do QoTs minions do anything, damage or something? It says in the tooltip they protect her but i dont see them doing anything, they just stay around her. I see sometimes some thorns leaving them towards the enemy, but no numbers coming out, no damage. U can sacrifice them, but besides that i dont see any other use for them.
I agree with QoT being very powerfull as a "army and structure killer", but on the other end she can't finish demigods if they know what they are doing. Bramble is the only thing that keeps her alive, because any assassin can take her down pretty quick, i dont think she should be nerfed. Althou would be nice if instead of uproot for buildings she would have a root skill to root enemy demigods to the ground, but that would probably make her an assassin. Imo, QoT is the
If you sumon 4 priests (or any other type of creature: melee/ ranged) of the first level, and then sell and buy level 2 priests and keep sumoning and rasing the level, you end up with 4 priests of each level. You cannot resumon them when they die (thank god :P ) but you can build a pretty overpowered army of 16 of the 3 creature types like this, and repeat it if you have the money for it. 48 creatures is a quite impressive army if no other demigod focus on taking it down. I'm not sure if it is bug or feature, but in my opinion it afects gameplay in a way that it must be a bug. When you give a move command to your demigod and, along the way, you use a item in your inventory (wand of speed for instance) your demigod stops to use the item even if the item is instant. In my opinion the demigod should keep moving to his previous destination and the item used while moving. This afects other items not just wand of speed. I can't see no reason to be li
ALT + Right Click is the AttackMove, but it doesnt work very well. The Demigod moves to the spot but will only attack (and not always) creatures that you could already see, creatures that are inside the fog of war and come out after dont get attacked.
Yes please, its picky but can't take that much time to implement too. And helps a lot to the patience of a player [e digicons]^_^[/e]
I believe almost every point that you focus on your post are DotA features. Not that they are all bad features, but this is demigod and not DotA. Something like elevation in the terrain is not going to happen since the game engine was made with plane maps in mind. Dont get me wrong but is almost like asking for some trees or a big forest so one can take trees down to make shortcuts... that was DotA. I agree with: Items: - Items should be a bit more spe
I don't agree with the idea, the creep lanes are well implemented to make u have to push where you want to attack. For instance in the 5v5 map or the 4x4 u can attack from the sides and do some nice damage, u just need to control the portal and help the creeps push a bit from that side. Once you have plenty of towers destroyed you can change from where you are attacking pretty quickly. I think that part (the lanes) is good as it is, as long as they keep implementing maps right. <
Are you just disappointed that it may rotate? If so, and if it does, one might be able to craft a quick user interface mod to change that. I hope your right. Its not game breaking or smth like that, its just that i'm used to fixed minimaps.
It looks like the minimap rotates with cam. I dont want to be the only one disapointed, but i really am with the minimap...
I agree, i've played WC3 TFT more than DotA, and always played DotA just for th fun and so it didn't matter how hard i could be losing it always was fun to try diferent tactics and lose any way. But in WC3 after the 3000th game at some point in a match you could easly see if you already lost or have a chance, of course disregarding probabilities like the other guys having an AVC or smth, and so it was very comon to leave as a sign of surrender. This is why, in my opinio
This is exactly what happens to me too, I dont believe it has smth to do with graphics, i tried already with minimum settings and normal, the gameplay is just not smoth. Sometimes i click to move and its very slow to respond and start moving, althou moving is not the worse issue. I right click on enemy unit or demigod to attack it and most times nothing happens, other times my demigod moves on top of the target and then starts attacking and only a few times he attacks as he so
In my opinion, for a game like this the 2 best formation systems i tried were, warcraft 3 (minimal configuration and custumization but very effective) and Rise of Nations (simple click and drag direction and formation type. Maybe a mix of the both would be just perfect.
I pre-ordered the game some weeks ago, with a credit card that expires this month. I didn't bored much about it since i beta was going to start this month. But now that its due to begin in September 5th i guess the money will only be withdrawn in September. What happens since the credit card expires this month? I checked the credit card account statment and a request for the money was made and accepted but no money got out i believe.
