Its cool folks, really appreciate that most on here realise being civil is best for all but yeah RB I hear you :) and with what you have said in mind well I will just comment regarding some of the followup advice. I think its really useful to newbies, you see because of this thread I got the long range jumps and when I zoomed out I could see LOADS of systems. The thing is I knew stars did have some practical use but there was much I didnt know, for example antimatter regen and strategic uses. <b

In all fairness to the devs Ive bashed my brain with sli and non sli configurations and the latest nvidia drivers are really sub par. Some will say they arent but Im in the priveleged position where I have a multitude of games. I collect them, majorly. I also dont know what nvidia is playing at because the most up to date driver has been on the site for months now and it is utter crap. I have had to go like 3 or 4 drivers down from the current one to get all around stability that includ

I seriously think you should keep the science Vs creationism stuff out. Im actually a christian and I have tried to have a civil debate in the past but BOTH sides end up just as closed minded so its kinda pointless.(Havent done this on this forum though, told myself I was staying out of that) All threads like that head to one place........the gutter. I went into offtopic when I first came here but Im just staying out of it, I find the sins games forums to be the most sensible discussions and peo

sorry about the double post but it may be worth you trying the nvidia NGO drivers because thats what it took to get my system running flawlessly in sli(I uninstalled them and sli probs came back but havent got around to reinstalling them so I am just using the latest nvidia driver in non sli mode) , all the other unofficial drivers were just as bad but then again its kinda system dependant, differant things are working for differant people. Im a bit dissapointed with nvidia driver suppo

SLI has a shed load of problems , I have the 2* SLI setup and seldom use it because of problems with the nvidia drivers in SLI mode. If its realtek HD audio, well I have that and some of their drivers can cause blue screens and freezes, I had that with eve online until I changed the audio driver. In saying that I have no problems thus far running sins but my audio loops twice on the initial loadscreen then everything plays fine, I have a relativly new system as well and frankly am finding that a

Thanks very much for bringing the thread back on track. (I dont want to start or get hassle on here, I read lots of bad things on other forums and it aint good for communities) lol adama I was up at a friends ealier today, was actually talking about how this community is actually really civil. I also happened to mention this thread and my friend actually said what you just said lol :) [hes actually a bit better at strats than myself , thats why Im busy trying to convert him to sins hehe] <br

If you actually read my question you would see I was asking how they relate in game terms. i.e are they merely for aesthetic purposes. Please drop the childish insults, yes the subject is perhaps misleading but if you read the whole post in context you would see I was getting at applied uses in gameplay terms. So drop the attitude is all I respectfully ask. Also I dont want my thread degrading into a flame war so please take your ranting eslewhere.

Some karma comming your way HX , I have gave karma out 3 or 4 times now but I will cut back, I can assure people its not been getting abused , just given to folk for encouragement who are comming out with some really useful stuff. Anyway interesting post, only one thing yeah versioning the replays would be cool if you have time. Anyway nice job and getting tactics and replays from clans is appreciated.

Im gonna be unrealistic and say immplement some form of campaign in the current game, supposing its in the form of heaps of text missions from each faction, imagine the scope of a campaign if you made it so basic?? you could through time have thousands of text faction missions and I would rather see content than glitz tbh because you have massive scope and it would be much easier to put big scripted text campaigns per faction in every few months, you could have an ongoing saga , theres an idea f

sd please sort edit so people can update posts but honestly while I hear peoples frustration but I am a newbie and havent DCed or even went afk in a game yet, games thus far have lasted 3.5 hours max sometimes alot less than that. (So its not all newbies to blame, in fact to me it stands to reason more intermediate or even veterans will do it, come to think of it Im sure I saw a clan match where when the team realised defeat they all DCed, obviously so they didnt get the defeat) People

If someone is doing sims in space and turtling attack them. Game should speed up. Also I may still be a newbie but RUSH a fleet the quickest before people get of the ground and start cordinating attacks with yourself and an equally skilled team mate and the other team is going to have to be reactive as hell. (I have been in the position of being reactive instead of proactive thats because I didnt move fast enough\was not aggressive enough, didnt do optimum build order). Also in regards to turtli

I really aint looking forward to this patch I read and I read on this forum and I feel like its leading to fast as hell games, no time to build, timers so your forced to build in pure C&C rush style with 1 or 2 combos or fail, everyone playing on small maps for insta wins and insta gratification as opposed to enjoying the game. (Use the multiplayer save feature, if the guys you are with let you down , dont play with them again and get some folks that are more reliable.
I've gotten over all of this because once you spend time with the game, you'll have so much damn fun that it stops mattering.
lol like the quote, you have just hit the nail right on the head and why IC has boldly and largely got away with no campaign. Thats what its like for me as well, I mean some of the things you suggest Im trying to pick up but Im still having great games so your correct ,so much fun it doesnt matter
Do I still want to see a campaign?

For me personally well I can understand why some want these changes just as long as the traditional way kepts kept as an option, as a person who just enjoys the game I like to have an epic game anyway which entails much time. Im guessing the people who take this game seriously may agree with you on the timer thing, its not my kinda thing so all I would suggest is keep the normal options available. Im not sure if this is what your getting at but Im starting to think it would be for the best if th

They really need to fix the edit button, I imagine you have maybe seen this one but anyone who hasnt really needs to make some time and watch it right through because it gets 1 million times better from stage to stage, thats from when the graphics were better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8dvMDFOFnA best video imo, enjoy , in fact I havent checked but im thinking maybe its in the start of the thread? still one to watch

I wish people would look at what other companies have done like with the oblivion horse saddle scandal and try and make more informed choices rather than just a self motivated instant gratification no matter what the cost to gaming in the long term. Also what , if right now they know theres alot wrong with spore, they have problems and can forsee a drop in sales so they put out the demo, they know the games generated a stir so this can bolster up potential losses. Apologies for the con
And about the $10 charge. You don't HAVE to pay for it. There will be a free demo of the creature creator, with limited playability. Just like a demo. Just like the demo I played for GC2 that was free.
All baby steps by corporations to aim to have gaming 100% subscription orientated. Its a creature editor that is a demo, demos get put out free so its greed, pure and simple, and the fact they are giving out 75% of it free or whatever is to appease those of us who can see

Just to finally say Im playing a huge map on normal speed and Im about rdy to win and its under 3 hours , huge maps have their place, I hope the devs dont speed up the game with reasoning based on huge maps because I like a game to involve multiple strategies and go over multiple sittings, and times to take a turn for the worse in a game, I have to retreat fortify and rethink, it shouldnt be any other way please play on small maps , dont ruin huge maps for those of us that like to play on an epi
