Carriers are already slower than LF's. How is making them slower going to help? Making them vulnerable to LRF's? Or just HC's? It the LF's can't position themselves right to keep firing in pursuit maybe that requires attention instead. And how about increasing LF overall DPS/survivability instead of pushing them further down the one trick pony road? They're already pointless to build for the most part.

There are way too many versions and beta patches around to scatter the online community even more. Updating to the latest beta patches I haven't been able to play a multiplayer game in months. I still drop in every now and then to see 0-1 afk people in the lobby.

I wish Siege Frigates were removed completely and replaced by a more interesting combat unit. Capital Ships can handle the bombarding and they're about 100x more interesting to build than Siege frigs. The super high supply cost makes them even less appealing, no matter how effective it might be to send 5+ siege frigs to wipe out an asteroid before the enemy can react. Overseers are great at keeping Cap ships alive under focus fire. Dominas and Perseverance should be th
Pirates playable race.
That just gave me the idea that shouldn't the Pirate base be hidden in the first place? Right now it's very easy to find and well defended when pirates should be just the opposite. Their base doesn't really need to exist in the game either. I don't think pirates should ever be a playable faction though - how would they win?

I've suggested it before that Capital ships could have a fixed amount of squadrons that does not increase with cap levels. The ship growing physically bigger makes little sense and a carrier cap having less squadrons than a Drone Host is just embarassing. Capitals could have a fixed amount of 0-6 squadrons depending on the ship and their other weaponry could be adjusted accordingly. Or rather the effectiveness of the strikecraft could scale like the ships weapons as the pilots also ga

A few things come to mind. 1) Make the existing frigates 1.5 or 2 times bigger, stronger and more expensive. Smaller fleets would mean easier late game micro and less lag. Frigates should be big ships and it would be awesome if they could have a turret or two more on the side (but I guess that would invalidate my argument for less lag). Cruisers don't need as big a boost but they could use more guns as well. 2) Give capital ships a fixed amount of strikecraft squadrons (0-2-3-

Yes, capital ships are easy to keep alive against the AI. But then again the same AI will have its early game fleet rather chase a single frigate around a grav well than colonize nearby worlds - the AI is hugely exploitable and doesn't prioritize cap destruction to begin with. We need to look at cap survivability in multiplayer where people actually focus fire on them with blobs of 50+ LRM's. Some defensive measures are needed for sure.

Two Raptures both firing at eachother, both using Vengeance.. sounds like damage getting bounced back and forth and amplified indefinitely. Never thought it would actually work but seems I was mistaken. Scary stuff.

Just had a 3 player FFA in Balance of Power. After the crash we realized we had not been playing the same game. The host and I could interact normally but the 3rd player had been playing a different game of his own, possibly for a period of over 30 minutes or even more.

I'd say the whole point of teching up that high to RA should be getting ships without an economy. Getting a lot of ships at the expense of structure building and tech upgrades. Something only the Vasari can do.

If there would be any way to make flak/sentinel/defense vessel able to protect capitals from incoming focus fire they would be useful. You can't really bring caps to a fight at all if they have 50+ frigates focus firing on them. IMO that's a bigger problem than countering strikecraft.

The AI does like to spam carriers. Keep in mind that 10 Advent carriers with 30 squadrons are worth 200 supply points. That's 50 disciples and 50 light frigates would eat those 10 carriers alive. Flak aren't useful anymore but at least light frigates are. Personally, I think the heavy focus in strikecraft is annoying because destroying them serves little purpose as they regenerate for free. You have to go after the carriers.

I've had the same old trouble with this as well. Dominated ships also have a weird habit of automatically creating one ship fleets of themselves. It was stated in the beta changelog that orders would reset after domination but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Or change it into a range increase affecting all targets within range since we can already see that. The in game infocards really should tell you accurately what an ability does without having to check from changelogs or fansites.

While waiting for the fix for scuttling strikecraft, I tried a game against the AI where they spammed an insane amount of carriers and just a handful of other ships. To counter, I built a ball of light frigs and sent them to wipe out the carriers before sending in my main fleet. It works. Light frigs are much faster than carriers. Flak on the other hand I found completely and utterly useless. Some fighters of your own combined with capital anti-strikecraft abilities are enough,

The carriers were better with only one squadron of strikecraft. I agree that the new carriers are too tough. You can't destroy the carriers and destroying the strikecraft is basically a waste of firepower since they cost no resources to rebuild. I would suggest balancing carriers back to one squadron and lowering their hull/shields back to normal. Increase the number of strikecraft in a squadron if needed but don't allow more than one per carrier. Also Flak are so weak now they
